KDE Has Created Shashlik, A Way To Install Android Apps On Linux

    Hi everyone.
This is really cool. Check it out all you linux-boxers!!

...., KDE has created Shashlik, an emulator that permits the installation of Android apps on Linux systems.

While Android is still Linux because they share the Linux kernel, Google’s OS has its own libraries and services while Linux uses the libraries and services brought by GNU.
    Go GNU, GO!!
So when using Shashlik, it, the OS that is uses as much of the standard system as possible. And Shashlik is built to integrate into your existing system. Whether that system is a plasma phone, your linux-box on your laptop, desktop, or tablet.

So, because they share only the Kernel, Android apps do not run natively on Linux, but Shashlik provides a collection of Android systems and frameworks to ensure this compatibility.
That's correct, because running an application built for Android on a more standard GNU/Linux OS like openSUSE, a Debian derivative, or even a Red Hat/Fedora/Cento OS machine isn't really such a forward proposition because it tends to involve either some kind of proprietary, closed source solution, or a virtual machine, of which inside of that you run Android.

More on the Sailfish OS in this next little blurb:

The main problem is that such emulators do not provide 100% features of the applications and for example lack notifications. Sailfish OS, for example, is capable of running Android apps, but the experience does not compare to the one provided by the native apps
    The link is here:

And that's where Shashlik comes in.

    Enjoy your day.

    Oh, oh. Better use LINUX.

That's why I hate the emulating, it only work at a low level of stability and it will go about patching for ever which is so annoying and uncomfortable.
    Native framework all the way.

Sailfish OS has the capability of running the android apps some of stable but you will have a crashing issues and push notification issues.

Push notifications: You mean for purchasing the OS related products??

I don't understand something you mentioned. You mentioned that there exists a lower level of stability while emulating; however, you also mentioned that Sailfish OS can have crashing issues while running some Android app. So it sounds like there are instabilities either way. Is that correct??

The push notifications are annoying for sure. I don't like that either. I would find it better for the author or developer to either provide minimal push notifications or perhaps either at the very beginning or close to the end and then be done with it.
