"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town.

Obsessed above all else with his reclaimed treasure, Thorin sacrifices friendship and honor to hoard it as Bilbo's frantic attempts to make him see reason drive the Hobbit towards a desperate and dangerous choice. But there are even greater dangers ahead. Unseen by any but the Wizard Gandalf, the great enemy Sauron has sent forth legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain.

As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide – unite or be destroyed. Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life and the lives of his friends in the epic Battle of the Five Armies, as the future of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.

I usually read them and have _finallly_ matured enough not to let the different point of view bother me anymore and just respect his view instead....

what did they expect, that the dragon would just pack his bags and move on without a fight? seems it was quite peaceful there (the dragon had enough adventures for a while) before these treasure seekers started stirring things up

no one was defenseless in those dangerous times and so close to smaug, besides they knew the danger and still decided to make this town their home... we'll see if they get awarded some dwarven gold for the damages & taking the heat (literally)

umm, isn't this treasure already collected on one huge pile, whereas the mountain nicely serves as a vault? what else is there to hoard?

don't remember this being in any of the (related) books
wasn't bilbo supposed to live a looong time after this adventure, ie. sauron was nowhere near being able to amass an army at the time (of these events)
also, how do you make stealth attacks with legions of orcs? by providing comic relief? (imagine thousands of sneaking orcs shushing each other)

also, any criticism will most likely be aimed at jackson & his lotr-xploitation, the director who was there (lotr) and shamelessly went back again (hobbit aka lotr redux wannabe) for the treasure (paycheck) & glory (guess imdb scores over 8.0 confirm this)

you're right about people in general, the movie most likely won't fail in terms of profit or attendance, its just too big for that
