yeah, but what tiny difference? you got me all curious now..

other than clockspeed, the chips should be identical to a stock card as the distributors don't actually bake their own chips. (kinda like how sony's and samsungs android looks nothing alike, but it's still android under a skin) Generally they just change to a cheap / decent cooler depending on the type and change the clock speed accordingly. Unless I'm mistaking?

(I don't see the clock speed screwing this over, btw.)

i see what you're getting at, but if you're writing your drivers to the point where that matters, you might be doing something wrong.... that's not really the correct way to test for things.

Shame on you Apple >: O
This is why we can't have nice things

on the contrary, that's exactly what proprietary systems do and why they harmonize so well

Ehh... Good enough point I guess. If only there was an easy way to hook up enough monitors on a mac mini :x

I've just read this whole thread again. It's gotten a lot bigger than when I last read it. Much great information here I think. Someday I sort of need to get the "hackint0sh" thing together so that maybe I could support some development on Mac for my projects.

In the day I could install Windows XP on practically any outdated computer. The whole thing from flash drive whether bootable or not, dos drivers for USB, NTFS lots of scripts, configuration applications and a whole realm of other stuff. A gig of hardware drivers ( even wrote and contributed to the open hardware driver database some stuff I wrote ) and a ton of time .... aahhhh I don't want to remember it all right now.

But anyway thanks for posting all this stuff and when/if I get to it I should appreciate this thread even more.
