I moved to it 8 months ago and I am very pleased. Initially I had OpenSuse and now I switched to Arch. Moved all my other computers as well (not to Arch, of course - Arch is just for me).

And while Windows 7 has support until 2020, this will not help you because Microsoft is pushing bad updates to it. If you look at simplix you'll see many updates are excluded from the pack. They know they must support it but that won't stop them from doing shady stuff. Say you use simplix and create an iso, immediately after you install it you are bombarded with all the updates that were excluded from simplix. Do you know which one to install and which to exclude?

My solution: grab a telemetry-free updated ISO from The Pirate Bay and turn automatic updates off

Also, 2020 is the year Microsoft stops support, but that doesn't mean the OS automatically becomes insecure and self-destructs. It means update patches and solutions will come from the community instead. So many people are happy with their XP, 2000 and even 98 to this day.
