Thread: The Chat/Spam Thread

linux larping grandmaster here, post or link your stuff and I'll try to answer as best as I can. :) or make a seperate thread for it.
also be sure to specify what types of answer do you want per question.Like where I'm allowed to say 'you shouldn't be doing that you should be doing this', one example would be a thread on some forum a few days ago asking for help with sed and bash because he wanted to shit up json files when there are tools specifically made for that.

I downloaded 80GB of porn which is all garbage porn.
Speaking of which, there is on readdit an /r that says tree porn, like branches. I have to say, I do have my own tendencies, but some people are worse than I am. Levels of sickness increases.

Pretty sure that's not about porn in the traditional meaning of the word.

Hey anon, let's find those mice. Those mice lasts 10 years+ of rough intense usage. An older batch.
    Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical v1.1
    Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical
    Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3
You work in a highly technical environment. There's a big chance schools have these.
And if you find them, send me some too.

I gave away an MS optical 1.1 usb I have had for so many years. Gave it to a friend and he loved it. Its outer shell was no longer pristine white though.

I had an IntelliMouse Explorer once. It worked really well until it randomly started slowing down, requiring a reconnect to solve. Eventually my patience ran out and I had to replace it. (And like all but one of my old mice, I no longer have it.)

Also, it's actually unlikely that a school here would have any of the ones you listed, since they were too fancy and expensive at the time. Remember that rolling ball mice were still the norm when the Intellimouse came out (and you'd still spot a serial one every now and then); even to date, they'll rarely order anything better than generic USB optical ones with two buttons and a wheel. My office is a gold mine, however, so I'll look and ask around... but I'm on summer break until next month

Good. That's what I want to hear. Just image having a mouse that lasts 10 years... I get turned on just thinking about it.

Then who knows what would happen if you found a 1980s Mouse Systems... those things were made to last forever.

I so miss the days were I had had trackers that were shared amongst 5 or 6 people. 100GB were downloaded per day, minimum. The most I've ever found was 2TB worth of downloads per week.
Had so much fun cleaning up after them, maintaining ratio, increasing buffer and so forth. Those were the days man... I think this is a good example for SB-I, Pushing the Innovation.

I know, those things felt so exciting back then - and we also had more time and eagerness to do them. Now people are all like Netflix and shit, but I keep it real and stick to the old ways or whatever
