Check into their IRC channel from time to time. [Address: irc.empornium.me, irc.digitalirc.org
    Port with SSL: 6697
Channels: #Empornium, #Empornium-Help] They happen to share invites there if you happen to share some ratio proof.
Or you can keep out for a look on open signups forums if empornium ever opens up for signups. Or get a trader or a seller!

My tip of getting rid of gaming addiction: automatically format your computer and all drives. This should be enough to cure every computer-gamer.
Years ago I created a script in grub to wipe out the first sector of every drive in a computer. When I just can't stop playing, I pop this usb in the computer and on next reboot everything's gone

that solution may be called self-punishment - an older example could be self-flogging by monks to reduce their sinful thoughts/actions/desires
there is also: extreme gaming until it becomes disgusting/repulsive, thus curing the addiction
and another is losing interest in gaming, thus it becomes a rare occurrence in one's life
the latter sometimes means: switching to another addiction

My service provider offers a paid storage solution and offera 1TB for 7$, what do you think? Speeds of 1GB/sec, unulimited bandwidth accesible via webdav and ftp. No crap applications required to access the storage like the case of dropbox and google drive.
    Should I take it?

My other concern would be that being a ISP they already have record of everything you do online, wouldn't the storage thing be like the icing on the cake? We obviously know that nobody has 1TB of personal information, so 90% of the box will be filled with pirated materials and I'm concerned they might do something... But it's still the cheapest storage I've ever found with FTP which is very important and massive speeds...

what about the fine print, fair usage, other user experience?

But it's still the cheapest storage
its cheap for a reason (or few)

    don't assume

can you trust them with your data?
would they sell you out in a blink of an eye if push comes to shove?

    On a totally unreleated note...

Slik, please tell me is there any truth in the following: "I'm my own worst enemy" ? Any possibility that, involuntarily, the subconscious to desire negative and destructive things to itself?

it means: 'my idea of myself, of what i am' (aka ego) is my own worst enemy, because this ego is false or illusory, thus also known as 'false self' - it is a perversion of the so-called 'true self', a crooked image of who you really are - so, while we have such false beliefs, we tend to behave in ways that are not natural to us, we attach to things we don't really want, it resembles the actions of confused & lost people searching for something, searching for their true identity, their true self

the 'self' mentioned in my sig is this 'true self'

Any possibility that, involuntarily, the subconscious to desire negative and destructive things to itself?
can be compared to: 'extreme gaming until it becomes disgusting/repulsive'

the subconscious acts as if it has a mind of its own, it complements your conscious, it acts to destroy that which is not natural to you, but this can often be perceived as dangerous to the false-self, which feels familiar, desiring to solidify and grow in importance, however, the subconscious always seems to thwart such goals, eventually leading towards a complete dissolution of any falsehood, the death of the ego - what remains is afaik the superego, your ideal self, your true self

so, in conclusion, all false things are your enemy, you are a Being searching for the Truth, the Absolute Truth and you will get there in a combination of constructive and destructive actions or experiences - right now you seem to be experiencing (or noticing) the destructive ones

Care to give a few examples? Take for instance a suicidal people. If the subconscious is struggling to destroy that which is not natural, how come people kill themselves? Why is this possible? This would be an example of the conscious mind fighting over the subconscious.

well, sometimes people drive themselves to the edge of no return, the issue may be too great to handle in this life, so it gets shifted to the next, or these people may be too sensitive, thus giving up too easily, etc. - the problem here is that it is generally not known whether a soul will reincarnate or not - if not, they have wasted their chance of improving their spiritual position - if yes, they reincarnate again but from a lesser position, which is a path more difficult to traverse - thus serious religions do not recommend suicide, they recommend improving one's position while you can, while living a human life, which has such possibilities - like in that saying: 'Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.'

the conscious is simply that which your awareness illuminates, that which you are aware of
the subconscious is that which you are not aware of, the unknown
the struggle here is in accepting the impulses of the subconscious, especially when they oppose the false-ego idea of the conscious

suicide is possible because you can think of it - the idea is that such things (that can be imagined) will happen in a certain way, with a specific meaning to it - or more correctly, if we can imagine it, the divine can most surely do it even better and will therefore provide a way for it to manifest itself in this reality - like in that phrase: 'leave no stone unturned'

    Hello,
Does anyone use the IPv6 connection type with the "Deluge" torrent client? I've been wanting to update a VEM client file. However, the Linux version does not support IPv6 connection despite me being assigned a IPv6 address by my ISP. I'm mainly looking for the replies relating to "Where is the option for IPv6?", "Does anyone use this method/client?", "Despite there being a bug, has anyone successfully managed to enable or report IPv6 address to the tracker?" etc. Almost anything relating to the keywords "Deluge and IPV6"?

Also if you are well versed with the Client I would want to know what are it's scraping parameters. If you can successfully scrape data (not limited to a single torrent) from a tracker what would be the parameters i.e., protocol, headers etc. [For some reason I'm unable to update the tracker during downloading. I tried scraping with VEM fake spoofing. However, I'm unsure about the protocol used by the real client].

    Regards,
    ~cloud99

Elections in Argentina today, had to do my usual job of receiving the voters and counting the votes afterwards. More details tomorrow, I'm too tired to think right now

That's one of the bad things about working for the government I guess. Here public workers are all eligible for working on election.

I signed up for it (willingly!) on 2013 and kept doing it ever since. My motivations were the experience and the monetary compensation, now it's just the money. It's a long stretch - not only are the voting rooms open for ten hours in a row, but you also have to arrive before they open to set them up, and of course, stay afterwards to count the votes.

Anyway, everything went as smooth as possible this time. The trick was sorting the envelopes containing the ballots in stacks of ten for easy counting, then opening them, count blank/null/special votes immediately, make further stacks with regular ones, then do a final count for each party. We were able to count ~260 votes and do all the paperwork in an hour and a half.

One voter asked us to borrow a pen before entering, and it turns out it was used to write an "anonymous" letter criticizing the whole system and explaining how it doesn't matter who wins, etc. (which isn't far off from the truth). At least we didn't find any slices of salami or used condoms inside the envelopes as it's happened elsewhere, so it's all good

no one bothered to upload the letter online?
any idea why the person borrowed the pen? a spontaneous idea, forgetfulness or trying to cover his tracks in fear of his pen being traced back to him

it matters a lot who wins, but at the same time, the winner represents the actual 'state of things', as opposed to wishful thinking, so if the conditions haven't changed sufficiently, the outcome won't either - for example: if local (party) corruption is still at similar levels, one cannot expect less corruption as a result of their handlings
