Try to ping to it. Open cmd.exe and type ping 127.0.0.1. If that doesn't work, you know for sure it is caused by your ethernet card.

Also check for physical damage on the card. Check and see if the pins on your RJ45 plug are bent or burnt (any color except the golden yellow that you see).

Do the LEDs on the card light up (there should begreen for power and orage/yellow for LAN activity) ?

To keep things easy, why not try to connect to the router with another device first? If that works, check if the router is running fine. If all that works, it's most likely the ethernet card

When you ping the loopback address it basically tests the TCP/IP stack (virtual side of the network card). If you don't have an ethernet card installed, logically it should't work but there are exceptions (?) .
You could set a local IP address and try to ping that.

he's right ... it pings even if there is no Ethernet card.. I've tried it by disabling it...
I've check the rj45.. pins are fine..

agree with 'the chills' (occasionally), though i wouldn't call her music/voice heartwarming, the voice is gloomy/slow/depressive/suicidal, the music could be called zombie pop - rather unique & catchy actually, might be hard to find really similar artists, try these for somewhat/barely close stuff:

Duffy - Stepping Stone (the chills, excellent)
Eliza Rickman - Cinnamon Bone (zombie/doped-up, weird)

maybe cause it sucked?
lets see:
- badly written and acted characters (stiff hanks, silly reno, useless tatou, pointless albino, gullible high-level clergy)
- too many plot holes and unbelievable scenarios, often progressing by pure chance, unnecessary twists
- a secret society that lasted for millennia yet squanders everything in a few days? lol
- hanks easily figures out all the puzzles with no prior training (unlike some of his companions)?
- remember the laughable louvre clues setup, by the bleeding guy? yeah, such nonsense basically keeps coming on and on
- finally, theories based on flimsy evidence, nothing particularly insightful (so j. had a wife, big deal, what impact does it have on the future of this religion or its basic doctrines, none?)
- also, what code?

the good?
- rather professionally made, thus watchable
- keeps you guessing, dynamic
- doesn't make me want to read the book hehe

- its followers, fan-base, size
- human ignorance/gullibility/confusion, corrupt society
- usurping a basic human belief (that there is more than meets the eye)
- history repeating itself (short trans-generational memory)
- a new age, a new mess (as if the old-er one wasn't messy enough)
