they still make stuff like that, but these days you have to pay 250 euro for it

any insights while being stoned (as in: altered state of consciousness) or the usual numbness/dizziness/confusion/euphoria (as in: not particularly useful)?

hehe, relax dude, you may not be aware of it, but there's nothing to be worried about, gotta trust that the things around you will arrange themselves in such a way that will prove itself beneficial in the end (optimistic viewpoint/standpoint no matter what the challenges ahead) - live your life by this formula and you might start getting some understanding of how things (the important things, not trivial stuff) work and what they mean, otherwise it will be a long(er) way to go and a lot of 'miles to go before you sleep' (before you feel at peace, meaning: adequately aligned with the essence of the universe), to quote a famous poet

if i may, i'll try to make some conclusions here:
    - 'I so wish I had money to buy each and every little part that made my childhood' - your childhood has passed away, served its purpose (for you), time to move on - if these things from your childhood will still be really important for the next generation, they will find a way to reach your progeny too (lets say: you'll be able to buy this stuff for your kids to use when that time arrives or they will spontaneously ask about it or download it or it will come up in a conversation or they'll find it on your hard drive, etc.)
    - 'Look at that magnificent package' - yes, the materialistic world is very alluring, isn't it? and what does it supply in return? hours of enjoyment (pleasure) followed by hours of longing for more time or money to continue the enjoyment (suffering), followed by more of the same or longing to diversify the enjoyment, repeating the same - but what about understanding this need for enjoyment and its purpose? proper answers to that will reveal the enjoyment for what it is and reduce its inhumanly tight grip (screams!) to a manageable squeeze (laughs!)
    - 'Nowadays it's only crap. CRAP EVERYWHERE!!...whatever happend to the good ol' days?' - remember the 'sine-wave', things rise and then fall, no way around it, accept reality for what it is, no point in expecting something else, only understanding what it is - those that are delusional will still have to spend some time with overcoming their delusions (whatever they may be) in order to move on further, no way around that either
    - 'Planned obsolecence' - its problematic but not insurmountable: spend less, spend wisely, choose only the best, not everything that is being offered/hyped,... - essentially: you don't really need any of that stuff anyways
    - 'free-masonry' - is clueless, they only appear powerful/wise (symbols, cryptic talk, flashing money) - their own behavior betrays them, for example: the need to hide their secrets (revealing it would show its insignificance/misalignment), the need to lure powerful & potentially powerful members of the society (fear of losing power/status), the need to steer societal changes (same fear), the need to appear important/long-lasting/pedigreed (same fear), the lack of publicly available enlightening material (nothing relevant to say, same old cliches) - the same goes for any other similar organization: illuminati, trilaterals, bilderbergs, etc.
    - 'pron' - is just another addiction/perversion, use moderately or fall prey to it (same effect as that delusion mentioned above) - essentially: you don't really need any of that stuff anyways

I have part one of a big-ass two-part exam next Tuesday. If I pass it, I'll be allowed to work as an English teacher on any public school! Which was what I was studying for three years back, but slowed down and eventually dropped out entirely.

In Argentina, graduates from technical schools may apply for teaching positions as soon as they have their degree (which is otherwise irrelevant - you can major in electromechanics and successfully apply for teaching Technical German). If they have passed all subjects as of March 31st, they get to keep the netbook the government gives to all students. Otherwise, they must give it back. My friend once had to explain this to someone who was in the latter group (hadn't passed and had to return the computer), adding that if in the future he finally graduated and got a teaching role, he could receive another laptop as such. Upon hearing this, the guy asked how he could go about signing up as a fake teacher so that he'd get a computer.

The audacity of that cracked us up so much... now she jokingly insists that if I pass this exam, I will be a "fake teacher" too.

(Note that actual fake teachers and "ghost" students are a real thing in this system. Fakers get in because they know an authority at either the school or government. Sometimes don't even actually teach anything. Ghost students are in the archives and even get grades, but don't actually exist and are only listed to meet a minimum quota.)

    Look at what I've found...

I played this for months when I was a kid. My favorite game in all my NES collection, hardest one too. I never got past 42:24. That stupid duck and that crazy half-bred bird.

Super Mario Bros on SNES was my first mario game. I started playing some Atari and Alex Kid, but SNES was the best in that age.
