Cool Malwarebytes Detects Pirates, Asks Them Not to Steal Software

Aside from detecting intrusive and harmful software on people’s computers, the anti-malware application Malwarebytes is also able to detect which users are running a pirated version. While some software vendors might respond aggressively to unauthorized users, the San Jose company takes a more gently approach in the belief that every user contributes to the success of the software, pirates included.

MBAM is a very good anti-malware software. The paid version only contains the pro-active defense and isn't really needed for just a scan-and-remove once in a while.

incorrect, they just detect known packers & co. (usually known as false positives), assuming they are used for packing cracks & co. without knowing their actual/particular purpose

because they know that cracked (useful) apps eventually become (much) more popular and some of those users will eventually pay for a full software version if they think its reasonable to do so

unfortunately, this company is intentionally spreading misinformation (or more correctly: disinformation) about what they actually detect, what stealing is/means, shoving accusations in-your-face and downplaying their attitude with some annoying/pointless workarounds,... thus showing their real face, while knowing that the majority of their competitors & colleagues from related branches have very similar opinions regarding these issues

what they hope is, among others, that no one will refuse to support them based on their deceptive & dishonest actions, that users don't care about company integrity, that they can get away with insults & disrespecting the users (just like the entertainment industry got away with those fbi warnings on retail dvd's, whereas the users should have boycotted such products and demanded respect & proper product contents, just like the governments got away with,... - notice the pattern here)
