Installation:
1. Download and install Vuze (if this is a Beta/CVS update, download the latest NON BETA release) (Vuze : Java BitTorrent Client - Download).
2. BACK UP YOUR TORRENT LIST! IT IS LIKELY YOU WILL LOSE IT!
3. Optional: If you want to make a backup of your old Vuze version. Go to the install directory and rename Azureus2.jar to Azureus2.jar.bak
4. Extract the files using WinRAR (WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files) or equivalent to %PROGRAMFILES%\Vuze (C:\Program Files\Vuze) and overwrite ALL files.
5. Run Vuze and Enjoy!
NOTE: For other operating systems simply replace the Azureus2.jar. For 64-bit, portable, and Vuze Plus support read the README in the appropriate package.

Troubleshooting:
Before posting problems please make sure:
1. You have updated Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to version 6 (Java SE Downloads).
2. You have removed the Vuze folder in %PROGRAMFILES% (C:\Program Files\Vuze).
3. You have removed the Vuze folder in %APPDATA% (The folder may be hidden).
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Vuze for XP
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Vuze for Vista
4. Reinstalled Vuze using the package from Vuze : Java BitTorrent Client - Download
5. Re-applied the hack from the downloaded archives.

Warning: Performing steps 2 and 3 will wipe your torrent list and Vuze settings.

With the new release pattern most browsers are using these days, it is proven even more that a number doesn't really mean anything.

I'm guessing they want to get more attention with bigger numbers? That's a stupid practice. At least Opera and Internet Explorer didn't lose their head, and only advanced major version numbers a few times over the last 7 years: when changes really warranted it.

One must remember "Firefox is on 1.0 and IE on 6.0, so the latter must be better" was already a stupid argument not to use Fx back in those days

No, it's not about that at all. If it was about that, it would be the worst idea ever, as sysadmins (e.g. the people responsible for updating your machine in a work environment) are completely against this. They dread new major releases and go by "why fix something that is not broken?". A new major release often meant new major features and in a sysadmin's eyes more things to go wrong and break. When chrome started this pattern, there was a major uproar because of this.


It's all about good project management. By doing this, the team has a predictable and fixed duration of development periods. That allows them to more easily determine how much work they can do in such a time and makes making up a shedule a whole lot easier, while not having as much pressure on everyone's shoulders. Under the old familiar releasing model, the issue of reaching a deadline with an unfinished feature was a whole lot bigger. They either had to rush it, which is bad. Or delay the release which already doesn't happen very often, delaying finished features as well, which is bad. Or the feature is disabled and has to wait for the next release to get enabled, which is bad. With the new model, if something isn't finished, it's just delayed and will be released a few weeks later. Less stress, everyone happy!

We've been working this way at my job as well and you can easily tell it works a whole lot better.

That being said, I also prefer v26 over v4.0.2.9462. At least 26 still says something. When does a change really warrent it anyway? I don't think people read the third and fourth number, thus can't be arsed to update to it anyway.

Following the rules of semantic versioning, they should probably increase their minor version a bit more often than their major (e.g. when they break the public api), but is v4.22 really that much better than v26?

N00b to Shu Mod, think I installed it right, but not sure I configure the settings correctly, I tried my best to follow the Tutorial, but after the Download, the Torent STOPS and won't SEED and report back to Tracker?

What am doing wrong?

Did you tick the "When download is completed -> Stop torrent" option? That would explain that behaviour

Got the Torrent to SEED after Download, but NOT all Private sites are loading the torrent to download.

Furthermore,after the competed download, I went back to the Site to check my Profile,I do NOT seed any increased in Download or Upload, and it does NOT show the Torrent is SEEDing, even though Vuze Extreme Mod is showing it is. Very Frustrating!!

I'm facing some problem with this version. When I click on a torrent title on Vuze, and the general information, options, files and all those tabs doesn't show nothing. Anyone could tell me what I should do, please? Thanks!

uninstall everything (you can backup your configuration ) and make a fresh install of vuze then add the last version of VEM as rebound said so .

Fresh install is not necessary. In this version is a huge bug which prevent to open the detailview.

I suggested this before, an automatic way to change cheating profile,
example:
using fake upload while downloading then once finish download it starts ratio tool mode automatically.
it's very important to me.
Or at least a trigger so I can start ratio tool once finishing downloading

doesn't make any sense. the ratio tool is meant for users, which don't want to download a torrent for real. but if you do, you could just use the fake report options like speed mode.

I just got used to it like that because sometimes vem doesn't fakeupload if there is no peers connected, that's why I use it like that. Download then ratio tool to fake the upload.
