BBC NEWS: Google edition adopts 'Palestine'

Internet giant Google has changed the tagline on the homepage of its Palestinian edition from "Palestinian Territories" to "Palestine".

The change, introduced on 1 May, means google.ps now displays "Palestine" in Arabic and English under Google's logo.

Using the word Palestine is controversial for some. Israeli policy is that the borders of a Palestinian state are yet to be agreed......the PA had written to international companies, including Google, asking them to replace their usage of "Palestinian Territories" with "Palestine".

semantics, which doesn't change anything - the palestinians have a few possibilities in the future:
    - they'll get their state as crippled as it gets (current 'palestinian territories' or less)
    - they'll get some miserable quasi-autonomy within the israeli state (as 2nd rate citizens or less)
    - that whole region will be integrated within the EU or some similar transnational super-state

be as it may, their future is everything but promising, since they also managed to severely underestimate their opponents and the surrounding (political) state of affairs

as for google politics/involvement regarding this issue - they are pretending/lying...again

That's for sure. As will most other national/independent states at some point in time. Total or near total loss of sovereignty / independence. Actually, what am I saying. It's already like that.
