    [question] Opera, Tor and Vidalia

    Few days ago I wanted to browse on the tor network with Opera (and not with the portable FF version of the Tor Browser Bundle). So, I changed the proxy setting in Opera (127.0.0.1, port 9050), I launched vidalia (what launched the portable Tor Browser I wanted not to use) but... Opera hadn't any access to the internet. When I lauched Tor in double clicking on the tor.exe application, Opera could browse the Tor network, so the proxy setting was correct.

    Does someone know a trick (or a method) in order a third party browser (Opera, Chrome, an other instance of FF...) be able to browse the Tor network after launching Vidalia ??

    If I remember correctly, there are two parameters you can add under the General section in vidalia.conf.

    BrowserDirectory - the directory where to "start on" the executable below
    BrowserExecutable - the executable to run

    Code:
    ;Example
    BrowserDirectory="C:\Portable Opera"
    BrowserExecutable="C:\Portable Opera\opera.exe"
    "I just remembered something that happened a long time ago."
