    Rebellin Linux

Rebellin Linux is a beginner-friendly, commercial desktop Linux distribution based on Debian GNU/Linux. The project offers two separate editions - "Synergy" which is based on Debian's latest stable version and which uses the older GNOME 2 desktop environment, and "Adrenalin" which is derived from Debian's unstable branch and which provides a customised GNOME 3 desktop user interface.
Link for this alternate distro is here> DistroWatch.com: Rebellin Linux

As you can tell from the quote above based on Debian and uses the Gnome desktop.

Homepage for this distro is here> Rebellin Linux - Lasting stability, everlasting impression!

Rebellin comes in 2 flavors - Rebellin Synergy and Rebellin Adrenaline.
I don't really care for what must be the default wallpaper for Adrenaline. Looks kind of tacky.

    Oh, I almost forgot:

Rebellin is not distributed for free as other Linux distributions out there.
    Why Rebellin is not free?

Rebellin IS free! But free as in freedom. But why the $5 price tag? Well, here’s your answer:

You are paying for the download bandwidth. Not for the product.

Rebellin ISOs are provided to you with high speed download links. Bandwidth costs in our country (India) are insanely high. Bandwidth costs, server maintenance, other bills – all these exact a heavy toll on us. That’s why we decided, against our will, to price Rebellin at $5. There’s a little profit here, a dollar at the most, but that’s about it!
I got that above quote from here> http://www.therebellin.com/whynotfree.html

I don't know. What do you guys think....

Instead of asking for money they could host the isos on sourceforge.

    Good point!!

Maybe they're just using the excuse to collect $5 as a front for all the effort they place into making the distro rather than what they claim as server/bandwidth costs. Or it could be genuine because instead of wanting to host it on sourceforge as some other distros do they've decided to host it on their own website. And as such have to pay for accompanying costs because they have bandwidth limitations. It's hard to determine.

Regardless, I don't think too many people care for such a decision. Speaking for myself only, I would be kind of disappointed to see other Linux distros go the same route as Rebellin has gone should that ever be the case. Hopefully not. As you know one of the trademarks of Linux is open sources. Meaning 'free' in all aspects. Not just the OS and accompanying software, but direct access to it as well.

Doesn't sourceforge offer free hosting to open source projects ?
Also who needs a site ? I only need a description a package list and an iso.
