    Encrypted Pocket Drives.

There are plenty of external drives floating around at CES, but Rocstor's offer up a rugged casing and secure encryption in a surprisingly sleek package.

Rocstor has actually announced a trio of drives: the Amphibious X5, Hawker HX and Lancer LX. Sadly, the first isn't waterproof, but it does use AES-256 encryption and both FIPS and NIST Cryptographic Engine validation to keep your data locked up safely. To even attempt to access data on this thing you'll need a passcode. It's available in 64GB to 512GB SSD or 250GB to 1TB HDD versions, and packs USB and FireWire connections.
Privacy is crucial. It really is most especially if you value your privacy. Your financial information is private to you only. One good reason to be aware of encrypted HDD. There are many of them around the market so this is just one of a few that I came across. I saw these on ebay as well. If you search for 'rocstor', you'll get a few results there on Ebay. Also, don't forget to use good passwords that include accented letters for more thorough security.

I don't see the value of this compared to simply getting a good pocket drive and using TrueCrypt on it

Yup. I do agree with you Someguy. Even though, still encryption can be beaten. Whether it's built in to USB or software. That includes Truecrypt and probably even PGP encryption for Windows.

If we are on the topic of encrypted pocket drives, I'm wandering what solutions do you fancy for going cross platform password storage. Normally the best cross platform tool is your brain but at some point in time you realize not all passwords can be memorized.

LastPass comes to mind, fuzzy. In my opinion, I feel it's a bit more secure to have your passwords in the cloud as opposed to being on your computer. With them being in the cloud they are accessible anywhere. Providing of course that you use, [as you put it actually very well, 'your brain'], in ensuring you make up a very good and strong password that only you will remember.
