That was a sad day in history, I still have bookmarks pointing to bitgamer, I hope they have titles in them so I can remember what I've bookmarked!

Both. GGN is already maxed at 10k users ;D. They got like 6k ppl from bG in just 1 day.

Oh, I just checked and they upped the limit by 3k, now there are 13.5k ppl in there.

What.cd's user limit was 50000 when I joined, if that tells you something.

Yeah, but What.cd set the bar a tad too high for all other trackers out there...

    Yes, true.

User limits probably made sense in the early days of private trackers, when servers were more expensive and accounts deleted due to inactivity (a bad word nowadays) because database space was a concern. Nowadays, I don't know why they keep on displaying limits, if they will only be increased every time they come close to reaching them.

I think that might have something to do with "following" the sort of "template" that has been kind of created around the concept of private trackers, in more paractical terms it might have something to do with the fact that a small community is more easily controled and monitored and tends to work better (as a team)... Besides I think that private trackers are seen as some sort of shadowy thing, therefore, the smaller, more restrictive and more secluded a private tracker community is, the better the tracker (not my view but it's how I think most people see it)...

That's the consequence of the rule One account per person per lifetime which is the most stupid rule I've ever heard. Nowhere else have I heard of a rule like that, not even in real life situations.

Yeah, it's a stupid rule to have on something as trivial as private trackers...

Should it tell me something? I was just pointing out the fact that many many bG users joined GGn in hours after bG's death, answering the question about bG population.

I agree, limits seem pretty pointless.

why people go to ggn that obscure, unfriendly staff, small tracker piece of crp.
Only 3k torrents ,used to be open & a lot people still wouldn't register!
    It's Bcg or nothing!!
