flashing trackers

Hi guys,

I am keep reading that you can flash some tracker to cheat and increase your ratio.
I don't understand what is flashing and how this is done? Is this the old method that exploit the security hole in the torrentbytes source-code?
as far as I know, this hole is closed in most tracker. is it still possible to increase the ratio in this way?

Certainly. It's just so blatantly easy to detect, that it only works if the tracker doesn't care.
