Can't you avoid this unwanted stuff by just clicking the out in the installation options? I remember they had something like that, it came pre-selected. Been a long time since I used imgburn, since the good ol' days of 360 dual layer burning, nowadays I don't even have a dvd-rw installed in my case anymore.

No, because there isn't such an option. The installer will execute malware code whenever it is launched, even tough you do not click NEXT or INSTALL.

For the average user, floppies, cds, dvds are useless. But to those that do support, they can never be replaced with USB memory.

No, it seems to be the original. Thanks anon.

Does anyone have any experince with patched/cracked antivirus software? I'm looking into getting Kaspersky with a trial reset or something but there are many things on the web, and most of them are not working or contain malware. Maybe someone could pin-point a working solution? Feel free to PM me.

    Thank you!

With security software, any method other than a serial number or hacked subscriptions should make you reconsider. Trial resets, cracks, patched files - you don't know what's inside them or what they'll do to the program that's supposed to protect you.

That's why I stopped using the cracked version of Sandboxie. I'd rather see the nag screen for five seconds every day than use a patched, obfuscated kernel-mode driver supplied with no documentation or credits.

So, the bottom line is to just purchase a licence?

Or steal one Since this doesn't involve modifying any files, it's the safest choice. Otherwise, you're forced to trust that whatever crack you use is safe.

    ...serial number or hacked subscriptions...
Are those sites that generates keys every day still exist? There were some back in 2008 for nod32 and kav.
    And what are hacked subscriptions?

Hacked subscriptions are the keys you mention (which are taken from legitimate customers). Those sites and programs still exist.

There was a time when security software could be unlocked forever with a name and serial number, just like many other programs. But I forgot it hasn't been that way for many years now.
