I drink maybe 5 - 6 cups of coffee per day. Yet I don't feel like I am fully awake at sometimes. I prefer it black as I am lactose intolerant. As for energy drinks I don't drink any. I believe my body it more than capable of providing the energy I require to function throughout the day based on my diet. I do take vitamins though not sure if that counts because I have been advised by the doctor.

Either your cups are too small or you have bigger problems here.

They are not small at all. Plus I drink strong coffee with less sugar.

This right here. I feel like 8-9 hours of sleep isn't enough for me that's why I am going through the week like a zombie.

A good exercise for you is to go one week without any surplus. Eat only whole foods, and leave out everything else, which includes snacks, fruits, drinks, anything sweet or alcoholic. And test. I think you'll be amazed at the result.

Caffeine is a good subject for me.
If you regularly drink coffee/tea/energy drinks your body will normalise to the level of caffeine.

I high recommend if people are drinking constantly throughout the day, take one week to reset.
It will suck and be painful, but you'll feel "normal" without needing to drink coffee in the morning.
Then you'll get the kick you used to have when you started drinking

Fully got rid of coffee a few months ago and it was the only change in my life that I did.
    PROS:
    - got rid of dandruff fully
    - overall less anxious
    - healthier and really lean nasal mucosa
    - addictions are easier to deny or control
    - 3 times better sleep, I don't wait like an hour before I fall asleep, not it's like 10 minutes, zzzz
    - less stomach problems, less heartburn
    CONS:
    - not enough sleep will fuck me up hard
    - the smell of coffee really makes me acting funny, when one of my collegues comes to his desk with a coffee and I feel the smell I crave it really hard

(Look at that mug, and that caek, and the stove under them, there's no way this isn't legit.)
