Lightbulb "10 strategies of manipulation by the media"

I just wanna share this interesting article with you:

Based on the work of American linguist Noam Chomsky, here is a list of "10 strategies of manipulation" by the media:
    1 - A STRATEGY OF DISTRACTION.

The key element of social control is the strategy of distraction that is to divert public attention from important issues and changes decided by political and economic elites, through the technique of flood or flooding continuous distractions and insignificant information. The strategy of distraction is also essential to keep the public interested in the essential knowledge in science, economics, psychology, neurobiology, and cybernetics. "Keep the public's attention distracted away from the real social problems, captivated by issues of no importance. Keep the public busy, busy, busy, no time to think, back to the farm and other animals (citing text 'silent weapons for quiet wars). "

2 - CREATE PROBLEMS AFTER OFFERING SOLUTIONS.

This method is also called "problem-reaction-solution." This creates a problem, a "situation" due to cause some reaction in public, so that it is the principal measures that want to accept. For example: let develops or intensifies the urban violence, or arrange for bloody attacks, so that the public is the principal of safety laws and policies to the detriment of freedom. Or also: create an economic crisis to accept as a necessary evil recession of social rights and the dismantling of public services.

    3 - STRATEGY gradation.

To make it accept an unacceptable extent, simply apply it gradually, a dropper, for consecutive years. This is how radically new socioeconomic conditions (neoliberalism) were imposed during the 1980s and 1990s: the minimal state, privatization, precariousness, flexibility, mass unemployment, which is insufficient to pay decent tickets, so many changes that caused a revolution would be had been implemented at once.

4 - THE STRATEGY OF DEFER.

Another way to make an unpopular decision to accept is to present it as "painful and necessary" in obtaining public acceptance for the moment for a future application. It is easier to accept that a future sacrifice of an immediate sacrifice. First, because the effort is not used immediately. Then, because the public, the mass, always has the tendency to expect naively that "everything will improve tomorrow," and that the sacrifice required may be avoided. This gives the public more time to get used to the idea of change and accept it with resignation when the time comes.

5 - ADDRESSING THE PUBLIC AS younger children.

Most of the advertising directed at the general public uses discourse, arguments, characters, and particularly children's intonation, often close to the weakness, as if the viewer were a very young child or a mentally impaired. The more you get bringing mislead the viewer, the more it tends to adopt an infantile tone. Why? "If you address a person as if she had the age of 12 years or less, then, due to suggestibility, it will tend, with some probability, a response or reaction also lacks a critical sense as of a person 12 years or younger (see "Silent Weapons for quiet Wars"). "

6 - USING THE EMOTIONAL ASPECT MUCH MORE THAN A REFLECTION.

Make use of the emotional aspect is a classic technique to cause a short circuit on rational analysis, and finally to the critical sense of individuals. Moreover, the use of emotional register allows you to open the door to the unconscious to deploy graft or ideas, desires, fears and fears, compulsions, or induce behaviors ...

7 - Keep the public in ignorance and mediocrity.

Making the public is incapable of understanding the technologies and methods for their control and their bondage. "The quality of education given the lower social classes should be as poor and mediocre as possible so that the gap of ignorance that lies between the lower classes to upper social classes is and remains impossible to reach the lower classes (see 'Arms silent for quiet wars). "

8 - stimulates the public to be complacent mediocrity.

Promoting the public to think that fashion is the fact of being stupid, vulgar and uneducated ...

    9 - STRENGTHENING THE REVOLT BY self-blame.

Make the individual believe that he alone is to blame for their own misfortune, because of the failure of their intelligence, their abilities, or their efforts. Thus, instead of rebelling against the economic system, the individual themselves helpless and blame themselves, which leads to a depressive state which one of its effects is to inhibit its action. And without action, there's revolution!

10 - THE BEST GUYS KNOW WHAT THEY KNOW IF SAME.

In the course of the last 50 years, advances in science have led to accelerated growing knowledge gap between the public and those owned and used by the ruling elites. Thanks to biology, neurobiology and psychology applied, the "system" has enjoyed an advanced knowledge of the human being, either physically or psychologically. The system has been able to better understand the average person than he knows himself. This means that in most cases, the system has more control and great power over individuals than the individuals themselves.

    @article without a source link:

Based on the work of American linguist Noam Chomsky
i'd be careful about the things this guy claims, from what i heard/saw he is not trustworthy - what he failed to mention here is that all these so-called strategies are also usable in reverse, ie. the opposite applies too, it all depends on the situation and the acteurs involved, so basically everything may work, which makes this list quite incomplete (possibly also deceiving), btw. did he mention how he actually represents the elite (in his field of work)? didn't think so

an example of his strong beliefs (or rather claims on numerous occasions) would be: '9/11 wasn't an inside job'....lol

    1 - A STRATEGY OF DISTRACTION.
also, burying shreds of significant info in a pile of less significant (but popular or interesting) or even unrelated (movies with identical topics) ones, aka 'a needle in a haystack' (see 'internet' and 'google search' as an analogy, when trying to find specific information, one gets bombarded by unrelated or linguistically similar results of higher popularity but lesser relevance) - related elements: 'idle hands are the devil's playground' and 'panem et circenses'

attraction works as well, discussing the important, though focusing only on specific segments, superficially discussing issues, fixed 'debates' with intentionally unequal participants (via sheer numbers, their personal oratorical abilities, appearance, camera-focus, host interference or lets say inadequate field of expertize)

2 - CREATE PROBLEMS AFTER OFFERING SOLUTIONS.
use suitable situations (real or manufactured) and the expected/predictable public response to offer pre-arranged solutions (plan a, b, c), push certain solutions in front or confront them with very negative alternatives

    3 - STRATEGY gradation.
may include sudden change of labels (example: 'global warming' --> 'climate change', more ambiguous thus more widely applicable), slow but broad introduction (general ecology, environmental concern) which peaks in high-profile targeting (al gore's speech on CO2), triggering a plethora of related, often pre-arranged moves/decisions/incentives creating an unstoppable avalanche affecting just about everyone (even the kids know its a 'problem', 'they can't all be wrong'), thus hard to challenge even with bullet-proof arguments

no gradation works yet again: create a sense of urgency, 'its now or never', 'its do or die', 'act now, tomorrow may be too late'

4 - THE STRATEGY OF DEFER.
another variant used for increasing taxes/prices,... (better do it now because it is inevitable or prudent and may bring future improvements or decrease the severeness of impending problems, 'strike while the iron is hot') - suitable global or local events come real handy as a plausible excuse

also misdirection: increase one tax (less publicity), decrease another one (huge publicity), increase a long term one, decrease a short term one,..., but make no mistake, mathematically speaking, their total will always be increasing

5 - ADDRESSING THE PUBLIC AS younger children.
the opposite applies too, addressing anything from their responsibility as adults, as patriots, as global citizens, to the future of their children, the country, the planet,..., you name it

6 - USING THE EMOTIONAL ASPECT MUCH MORE THAN A REFLECTION.
or the so-called subliminal messages - all of these are common among commercials and movies/entertainment
vice versa applies again as well (whereas the reflection part simply gets misdirected)

7 - Keep the public in ignorance and mediocrity.
this one has been continuously used for millennia - another inverted variation is to educate the public so that it thinks it actually acquires knowledge, whereas all these enormous amounts of data have little or nothing to do with understanding, ie. the focus is on accumulating data, not dissecting their relevance/meaning - the ones labeled as 'above average' being merely more successful in reproducing accumulated data - another variation is 'reinventing hot water'

    9 - STRENGTHENING THE REVOLT BY self-blame.
how about more broadly: attaching the blame to something specific without mentioning other participants or another variant: spreading the guilt (thin or thick) on many participants - as for the self-blame, it may go in various directions, like: strengthen the ego response (ego wins vs. the self-blame) or force it into passivity (depression, helplessness) or into activity (mea culpa, let me do some good now)

10 - THE BEST GUYS KNOW WHAT THEY KNOW IF SAME.
ask the (mainstream) experts, they ought to know...lets hope they're not already corrupted, eh? btw. the same goes for any alternatives

    And without action, there's revolution!
    huh?

In the course of the last 50 years, advances in science have led to accelerated growing knowledge gap between the public and those owned and used by the ruling elites.
name any period or system in history where there wasn't a gap between the public and the elite - does anyone really believe that by sharing all knowledge there wouldn't be a gap anymore? (take an ordinary school and the differences between its students/pupils as an example)

Thanks to biology, neurobiology and psychology applied, the "system" has enjoyed an advanced knowledge of the human being, either physically or psychologically. The system has been able to better understand the average person than he knows himself. This means that in most cases, the system has more control and great power over individuals than the individuals themselves.
would that include theories based on personal hunches/obsessions (fi. freud, darwin), elusive probabilities or ridiculously ineffective computer models? or the highly advanced techniques of 'repeat until hopefully indoctrinated and then some more to make sure it sticks'? what great power would that be: to make sure there are large camps available so that individuals can choose in which camp to go? to have enormous bureaucratic/legislative/political/scientific/media/... machinery in place to keep the charade going on and on? yet any average joe with a tendency to use simple common sense may be able to figure out much of this on his own in a relatively short period of time? seems the emperor has no clothes...as usual/expected
