Final Fantasy VII on Windows 8 Consumer Preview

How many of you tried final fantasy 7 on Windows 7 x64 and what version did you download ? (I'm sure no1 tried it on Windows 8 Consumer Preview x64 that's why I'm asking about Windows 7)
Should I get a UG account and download the FFVII version they have there or should I just try this one ?

why don't you get the PSX version?
you get to play a 'clean' experience of ff7, plus you can enhance some graphics from the emulator
I play it using epsxe, and didn't complete it yet, and its awesome yes...

it's been weeks since the last time I've touched it, but I'm still in Disc 1, when the game tells you about Sephiroth's past.

The game pretty much works well with consumer preview
I will try your thing when I switch back to Linux.

A game that was released in the nineties works well on the preview of a 2012 64-bit OS. Isn't that awesome?

I've always preferred the PC version, because it has an extensive amount of mods and enhancements. You wouldn't believe how active the FF7 modding community is, and how much stuff has been done.

The Ultima version is a fan-made repack of the game with a patched binary to improve stability (they didn't cap the amount of frames per second in some parts of the game, you see, and that's a problem when modern graphic cards can pump 300+ FPS) and a bunch of goodies. Not badmouthing it at all though, it's the fastest way to get on playing if you aren't OCD about customizing your copy like I was.

Nope, absolutely everything is changed so that Cloud is the main enemy in the game. They even edited the FMVs. It certainly adds replay value to the game!

You can change his equipment, and the weapons are renamed to match the new character.

However, all the swords looked the same as far as I remember, because they can only do so much with a patch.

The patch swaps the roles of Sephiroth and Cloud in the game. Hence, the latter kills her. The FMV for that moment is cleverly manipulated so that Cloud looks like the murderer, by just altering the order in which scenes are shown.
