    Ah. Ya.
I get ya, now. Ok. so here I am...

and after I managed to tweek the config.dat file, I managed to access the town of Grove from the Temple of Fate.

My stay was very short as I didn't want to upset you with my traverse into Grove overly much before my return back to FATE-Traitor Soul before you even knew I was there.

Besides, the slaughter house was beckoning my return....

You might recognize that fountain pictured above, yes??.

And here I am about to get back to work at the slaughterhouse....

Oh, and I managed to get FATE into Windowed mode finally. I hate having my entire screen taken up by a game. If your interested, let me know and I'll mention what files are needed to tweek the game from full screen to windowed mode if your interested.

Wow, looks awesome! I only have low-level gear (a few artifacts) for now. Maybe if I grind the higher DLs a bit and sell the junk, maybe even find my gold, I could afford better armor and survive in the parts where I was killed.

The tip for windowed mode would be welcome, for the exact same reason you've given. I play all my games windowed whenever possible. 3DAnalyzer is supposed to force rendering into a window for games that don't support it, but it never worked...

Sure. Here's what you do to get FATE into Windows mode.

You need to navigate to a folder that is located in "/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/WildTangent/fate/Persistent"

Once inside that folder, you will find a file called file config.dat

Open the file in your notepad software and edit the line <FULLSCREEN>:1. and change that line to <FULLSCREEN>:0.

FATE should now run in windowed mode.

On a side note, I initially tried to add a ' -w" to a shortcut on the desktop as one can do with Diablo; however, it didn't seem to work with FATE.
Also, the above screen shots were only from FATE-TS. The other FATE-Cursed King, that I'm playing is the one with my small troop of allies. I'll provide some screens of that next time I play that one. I think that I'm only on level 38 or something there. Trying to upgrade my allies abilities and so forth b/c the other dungeon/mission that I'm taking them to is unfair game to them at the moment.

By the way, if you do ever decide to play FATE-TS, the way I managed to get to the town of Grove is by also editing another config file from within TS. Otherwise, I was not able to enter there unless I did.

There is something else that I remember now and that is that in FATE, a player can't give his pet spells to use. In Torchlight, a pet can use the spells it's been given. It makes for more fun in the game as well as more firepower of course.

I don't know what's going on but I am encountering more and more of these heavy-sized dragons.
They are starting to get me worried.

I always wondered why I had these zombies appear each time I used one of my spells to summon help. I finally figured it out. I have this summon Ghost Valkyries spell and it is these things that summon zombies to aid them in a fight that I get into. Really weird but neat.

Ok. So here is my character from the Cursed King.

My pet is supposed to be an abomination. Works well.

I decided to turn my wolf into a tiger with a little boy riding as passenger.

Here is my new pet in the continuing saga......................

Maybe there's others. I know that cheatos plays or did play 'Torchlight' which is pretty much similar to FATE, though with Torchlight it's a little more limited where once you have completed the master journey that's it. That and the fact that there is also a limited number of dungeon levels available to play. With FATE, the level of dungeon levels available is limited to something like Dungeon Level 2 billion or so with accompanying difficulties of course. In FATE, there are also more characters to choose from which I really like.

There are of course mini-missions to accomplish when playing the game which sets you up for completing a master mission.

Both of these games are also modifiable and in having said that, in-spite of Torchlight being limited to just around 40 or so levels there are still other dungeon levels to explore with dungeon mods down-loadable from RunicGamesFansite. For playing FATE and finding mods on it, you have to go to the Wildtangent games forum.

But when you do play Kelly, it's so addictive when your really into it that don't be surprised you play long hours like I do. And don't forget, there is more than just 1 FATE. There's 4 in total.

kelly, if there's another game you want to try... FATE's addiction potential + a large dose of extra difficulty - graphics = Ancient Domains of Mystery - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm going to have to give ADOM a try next time. I like the sound of it giving the player a choice of ten races and twenty character classes. That is definitely very cool.

Let me know when you find some time, I'd be delighted to give you tips just like you've helped me with FATE. Don't let the fact it's a text-based game discourage you from playing. It turns imagination into a giant asset. The complexity and freedom of the game world also really beat nowadays' games where graphics are stunningly real but gameplay is "kill everything to win".

    This is good.

And maybe we'll consider doing the same with Torchlight 3 at it's release since that is supposed to allow for integration of other players into the same game-play your playing in.

    Ya. Your right. My bad.
I think that after I read your post on Diablo 3 I was still consciously thinking of the number 3 when I input my text.
