Mei (Catherine Chan) is a 10 year-old Chinese math prodigy who is abducted from her home in Nanjing by the Triads; she is sent to America by the Triad Leader Han Jiao (James Hong), where she will serve as a "counter" for their extortion racquets. No computers, no paper trails - she keeps all the numbers in her head. One year later Mei's new adopted "father" Chang (Reggie Lee) brings her along to count the numbers as he shakes-down his business operations.

Thanks for the trailer, I love these movies with Jason Statham, I think he is the "action man" of this decade.

she seems to be a linguistic 'prodigy' and an escape artist as well, though not as good when it comes to hiding among the masses
the math ability seems to be (over)stretched to memorization & pattern recognition too
now what organization would entrust an important part of their business to a pre-teen child? exactly, none

whats wrong with computers or paper? no one has to use company forms, their signatures, names or addresses, just numbers and simple codes - without other linking information these are useless in terms of legal usage against their 'owners' - as for the extortion figures, these are already roughly known to others in related business areas - not to mention that there is no need to use them while extorting, they are used later for accounting/overview purposes, far from unauthorized prying eyes

if the counter is so important you don't bring him along into potentially dangerous situations & among people that might influence the counting process

if all those corrupt system elements are operating underground what happened to those 'above the ground', witness protection systems and so on, too much nuisance for the amateurish scriptwriters or too much substance for today's standards of film-making?

bottom line, don't bother with the story, lets scribble anything just so that the main hero can start kicking some bottoms already

Jason Statham, I think he is the "action man" of this decade.

what decade would that be, or better yet, what criteria resulted with such a conclusion?

statham is a poor excuse for an action hero: very low charisma, very weak acting skills, low likability, seemingly no intention to attempt some improvement or role variation, insufficient ability to carry a movie on his own,... - on the other hand, most of his well known movies (and roles/characters) were sloppy, forgettable, sub-par creations with about 3 exceptions early in his career (later on he never managed to repeat, let alone surpass these levels):
