If you're feeling adventurous, I found a way to make Chromium use a single process.

How To: Change how Google Chrome manages processes - Web 'n' All

Basically, you install Chromium (not Chrome, which is basically the same but with Google's branding), then make a shortcut and add --single-process at the end of the command line. Supposedly, this is not "meant" to be done, so it might be unstable or buggy...

I actually tried it yesterday with SRWare's Iron, to see if single process mode could make it an alternative to Firefox. Memory usage rose quickly, but I usually open tabs like crazy and wanted to test it under such conditions. If you aren't a maniac, your experience might be better. And if not, just uninstall the thing

Surely you mean FastestFox? The other one is for speedup tweaks, which you can easily do from about:config, by the way...

Anyone else experiencing Firefox being much slower than it used to be? Everytime i open explorer instead of FF it seems much faster. Hmm about addons: Adblock, Adblock Plus Popup and Element Hiding is a must if u really dont want to see the ads on some pages!

Leaky addons are a bitch. Currently I'm trying to find which one of mine causes huge cycle collector delays, which basically means the interface regularly stops responding for several seconds.

Sorry for posting this in this thread.
Anyone knows what could be the cause of my problem? Since today all a little bigger letters are really bold and it's extremely annoying since some site don't open as they would normally. I didn't install any kind of addons or anything like that.

There are two things you can try:

    1. go to View -> Zoom and click Reset,
    2. go to about:config, and make sure the "gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled" setting is set to false.

Are you saying you have that many tabs open in your browser including a few windows??

Usually more. I just open the links Im interested in reading and group them using windows
by the way I find that sandboxie just kills FF speed (well slows it a bit for my liking) but I put up with it for the extra security. It took me a while to find this out, FF by itself is really fast!
