Removing Icons on Systray on XP

I would like to know how to remove Icons on Systray.
I know how to hide icons by the windows settings, but
    it's not what I want.

But I do not want to stop the program, so msconfig
    does not work either.

Is there any way to remove icons from systray?

Click on start, settings, taskbar and startmenu and then there is a customize button on the bottom of the page.
There you can change the visibility of all icons also if the program is still active.
Why you want handle it on a other way?
    No admin rights?
You can also try to disable all icons in the registry.
But i don't recomment this way.
Enter the registry with regedit and create a new DWORD NoTrayItemsDisplay with a value of 0x01. After the next reboot the icons should be gone.
But it's better to make a backup of your registry before.

    Thank you both of you.
Unfortunately, the software did not work.
It hides icons, but it comes back when I expand the system tray.
I want the icons totally hidden unless I unlocked them.

There isn't any (easy) way of doing what you want. You may need to dig deep in the registry for your programs and try to find the relevant key that shows the icon in your system tray. If i'm not mistaken, the key(s) you're looking for should be GUID ex xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx which is alphanumeric.
