question about release grups in trackers (movies)

i allways wonder about why do most of p2p or scene grups release a ripped movie first.

to be more clearly, why does a hd movie 720p get released first and the complete full bluray comes last one?

the same goes for a dvd movie, the xvid rip comes out first then the dvd after.

is this has to do with the encoding ? (takes longer time) or its because of the popularity or lower bitrates releases?

Good question... I think they release before the rip, because if release the dvd, all the people can download and do the rip... so they release their rip, and after some days come out the dvd the most of time from another crew, which don't do the rip.

it's also a case of access.

some of the actual blue ray and dvd rips are not rips - they are encodes used for viewing purposes by legal teams who are tasked with looking at cuts for regional releases of the actual discs around the world.

which is also another reason that some initial releases of rips which come from genuine sources are tagged as re-encodes - they have been re-encoded to strip them of their digital identifiers.

    General order is

CAM / TS (TS is just cam with line audio, sometimes it's just TS as they have audio and there is no "cam" which is same video but with recorded sound)
    R5 > R5 720p
DVD XVID > 1080p/720p (sometimes 1080p is first and another group takes the source and makes 720p out of it, sometimes the same group releases both qualities from original BD in whatever order they wish... usually 720p first though as it's quicker)

And yeah i guess lower quality comes out first because its easier/quicker to race something that is lower in filesize. XVID/DVD are the most popular/desired rips too. Remember a lot of people have older/shittier computers that cannot run HD.... 720/1080p wont even stream a movie on these setups and the pictures gets all messed up, so these people have no option other than a dvdrip.
