Cool MafiaaFire Add on for FF - Redirects you to a Mirror when a P2P site is down

I Just heard about this add on that does quite a simple but very helpful task: When your favorite P2P site has been taken down, it finds and redirects you to a known mirror.
Haven't tried it myself, but it seems legit.
Supposedly there is a chrome extension, but I couldn't find it-¡.

    Enjoy!

But it seems MafiaaFire has some privacy issues:

The MafiaaFire Redirector's Privacy Policy state:

Right now no data about the user is collected, but in future we might collect some IP data when you ping our site for updates.[6]

This means that the unknown MafiaaFire Redirector author can at any time start to collect and monitor MafiaaFire Redirector users, without warning them or anything.

After every 15th redirect, MafiaaFire Redirector will send the user to a "help_us"-page. It's possible for the MafiaaFire Redirector developer to monitor what website the user is being redirected to, without the user knowing.

The MafiaaFire Redirector webpage state that:

When a user types in a domain name from the list of blocked domains, the add-on recognizes this and automatically redirects the user to the secondary site. Since this happens before the browser connects to the DNS server, this renders any DNS blocks useless.

But this is not true. MafiaaFire Redirector is loaded before the DOM, but AFTER the page has been loaded. This means that your DNS could spy on you and even worse ICE could potentially use the seize to monitor MafiaaFire Redirector users, and actually send a 301 Moved Permanently header back to the user, to bypass MafiaaFire Redirector.

The fork FireIce presents itself as an attempt to solve some of these security and privacy concerns described.
