    wow!

i didn't know they were making a tintin movie i read all the graphic novels when i was a kid - they're a brilliant little collection of stories and i'd reccommend them as reading material to any youngster - really good stuff

i dunno how it's going to feel watching this as an adult, but i'm definitely going to do so with much excitement - can't wait

TinTin along with the Asterix series of comics are some of the best that I've ever come across as far as my personal opinion goes on comics. I side TinTin along with Asterix for a number of reasons. I find that the adventure that the characters in either of the comics aren't as violent-prone to some of the material you see on TV or even on regular films. It's more family oriented I find. I've seen some of the Asterix and TinTin animated films and their not that bad, though they don't do the justice that the comics themselves do.

The 3D effect looks really stunning. Tintin is one of my childhood here so I'm looking forward to see that movie. It'll be a great one under the hand of Steven Spielberg.

I can't believe this. Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson. What an awesome mix to produce what might be a really good movie. I absolutely love this 3D animation that's been put out for this December. Only one thing I've got to complain about. They didn't use a Beemer in the film that TinTin was riding...what a shame.LOL. Nevertheless, it should be great to watch when it comes out and definitly it'll be something
that I hope will continue in some kind of 2nd series of animations. The trailer for this was good. I don't feel that the adventure in this was overdone ( as in many other films that make the trailer good but in the end the movie is actually not as good as hoped for) as TinTin is all about adventure.

You can find first reviews online! Some say it's an 8/10 and others say it's not good!

probably not so gory/realistic, but i'd say there's still plenty of violence in them, especially in asterix with all those battles against the romans - both can be viewed as vessels for (virtual) establishing/celebration of french/belgian superiority/dominance over others: in asterix with fantasizing about their fighting superiority over romans (historically the opposite would be more accurate), in tintin with early works having strong elements of racism (africa) and imagined superiority over usa/ussr (until the politically correct re-editions tried smoothing things out)

as for the trailer, it doesn't seem too interesting: 'flying' ships?! cannonballs with splash effects? mediocre pirate action? a mighty artifact with the power to change the course of history no less? lost for hundreds of years to everyone, but not to some bland teen adventurer (that somehow manages to resemble all those silly teen superhero wannabes in just about everything except for a fancy suit, visual superpowers & girls perhaps) & his dog-wonder companion, not to mention stretching the believability quite far with outsmarting organized (adult) enemies with superior firepower, impossible stunts & fistfights, larger-than-life quests (a race against evil lol), improbable weaponry (bazooka?!), uninspired voice-acting and there will surely be other outlandish elements in the movie, meaning that its likely going to end up as yet another pompous display of vanity & inflated brainless action, hiding behind the convenient excuse of being a comics adaptation ie. why bother with any logic/realism, eh?
