Suggest an Anti Virus / Internet security for Netbook.

Hi guys, i perceive that there are quite a couple of netbook users here. I am currently running Win 7 on Asus EeePC which has 2GB RAM & 1.7G processor.

Which Anti Virus do you recommend.? Must be lightweight, provide good security , easy to update/renew etc.. I am currently using Nod 32 and feel kinda OK.

    Thanks
    Kelly.

My netbook only has one gig of RAM, and it's constantly swapping

If you don't like NOD32, Microsoft's Security Essentials is apparently very light and effective as well. There's also VIPRE, but the feedback I've read on that is rather mixed.

I don't want to be a hypocrite and linuxtard at the same time but why not use linux(lol what's antiviruz) on a notebook? It's just a notebook. It's not like you need windows specific apps like photshop even though some features can be found in the not-so-well-developed-gimp.

Avast works nice on a netbook, updates often, contains AV and firewall, and its free
ESET Smart Security works without big footprint too. It contains NOD32 and a Firewall.

If you'd like to try Linux, get Ubuntu Netbook edition, its nice Netbook | Ubuntu
Also, the latest version of ubuntu will be out in 3 days.

I prefer the same programs like anon. I use Microsoft's Security Essentials at the moment. NOD32 and Microsoft's Security Essentials are conserve resources and small. If you want to pay for anti virus so choose NOD32. If not use Microsoft's Security Essentials.

    greets and happy easter !

nod32 gets the vote from me - it's really the only solution that's suitable for a netbook - avira or kav if it's a desktop...

I switched from BitDefender to NOD32 in 2007 after realizing how bulky and slow it was in comparison. Maybe things have changed.

I remember back then you could make the trial version have free lifetime upgrades by just adding an entry to your hosts file, which I discovered myself. A friend used to call this the "Hosts file pwnz0r".
