I'm using XP as well, but I want to upgrade to Windows 7. However, I'm not going to install the whopping 2.4GB untouched DVD. Anyone knows a good lightweight edition of 7 that is not Tiny7 (it has problems)? Like MicroXP, but for 7.

I have a Windows 7 Ultimate made by me if you're interested. The iso has 844MB and total install size is less that 2 gb. I've been using it since October and everything was fine. The only thing that doesn't install is ActiveSync.

I'm working on a sp1 image with full profile and program files redirection but needs some work.

I'd prefer having the latest fixes. What's the estimated time until the SP1 version is out?

It installs correctly but it won't finish the installation. I'd say, it'll be done by friday but I can't exactly specify when. It's just a minor bug.

Okies, let's use our head for a while here. MS products have their ups and downs. If you want something that doesn't have a single bug, runs correctly 100% of the time and has zero compatibility issues, then you're looking for perfection, and that can only be strived for, not reached.

I'm not a fanboy nor a detractor. I just think statements like "even if they made an infinity edition, Microsoft (or any other company) products still suck" is as inaccurate and misleading as "Microsoft's products are always flawless and perfect". Everyone makes mistakes. Do MS products have cons and aspects that could be changed? Yes, but they aren't total crap either, otherwise no one would use Windows and IE. Same goes for Linux, Apple stuff, you name it.

That's your opinion as i said mine.
Even though i like win 98 & 95 & liked IE 6 , IE 7,8,9 Issues still continues , Even Windows Had some errors with torrent clients in the beginning of 2004.
if all users hate Microsoft it wouldn't exist till now same for apple ....etc

    That's out of the question.

It's rather the amount of people buying their stuff that matters. Look at that, almost "everyone" hates Windows and it's still number one when it comes to market share.

When I used XP, I did not bother to check out Vista.
Now that I'm using Win7, I probably won't bother to check out Win8 also,
especially since I only have an i3 laptop (and Win8 requirements may increase).
