    Egyptian Internet cutoff 'unprecedented'

Egypt's four main Internet service providers (ISPs) cut off international access to their customers in a near simultaneous and unprecedented move, an Internet monitoring company said.

"Virtually all of Egypt's Internet addresses are now unreachable, worldwide," said James Cowie of Renesys, a New Hampshire-based firm which monitors Internet routing data in real-time.

"In an action unprecedented in Internet history, the Egyptian government appears to have ordered service providers to shut down all international connections to the Internet," Cowie said in a blog post.

"Critical European-Asian fiber-optic routes through Egypt appear to be unaffected for now," he said.

"But every Egyptian provider, every business, bank, Internet cafe, website, school, embassy, and government office that relied on the big four Egyptian ISPs for their Internet connectivity is now cut off from the rest of the world," Cowie said.

"Link Egypt, Vodafone/Raya, Telecom Egypt, Etisalat Misr, and all their customers and partners are, for the moment, off the air," he said.

Cowie said Renesys observed a "virtually simultaneous" withdrawal of all routes to Egyptian networks at 2234 GMT on Thursday, "leaving no valid paths by which the rest of the world could continue to exchange Internet traffic with Egypt's service providers.

Cowie said one exception was the Noor Group, which still has 83 live routes to its Egyptian customers.

He said it was not clear why the Noor Group was apparently unaffected "but we observe that the Egyptian Stock Exchange (www.egyptse.com) is still alive at a Noor address."

Egypt has been rocked by days of protests against President Hosni Mubarak.

Mobile telephone networks were severely disrupted in the country on Friday along with the Internet.

Mobile phones and the Internet have been used by activists to organize the most serious anti-government demonstrations in decades, amid warning by the Interior Ministry that it would take "decisive measures" against protesters.

Of-course NO, Neither "Muslim Brotherhood" nor "Opposition parties" not even "Mohamed ElBaradei The Chairman of the International Atomic Energy Agency and former" start it but they want to benefit from it.

The protests started by youth Muslims and Christians together, sped away from the mosques and churches ,Because they are suffering from unemployment and lack of income and can not marry and a lot more I am one of them had to travel abroad to get a chance to reduce the paid work that is not a few, but most young people do not even have the eighth visa and ticket for travel, Appealed to the young people of all shades of their mothers and fathers and sisters and their brothers and their children to demonstrate them to reach their voice and now all Egyptian people at streets.

    Why we choose 25 January?
Because the Egyptian police forces brave in this day before, as nearly 60 years, acting for the occupation after refusing to hand over themselves and their weapons, then today is the feast of the police, but now police oppress people for the government, fraudulent election and a lot of it, so we decided to be a demonstration in the day of their festival after That we were proud of what they did to them do not want you Alannicol.

    From where we started?
Internet ,facebook ,forums and so on.

    what we want?
    Social justice
Wage increase and not raise prices
    Full judicial supervision of elections
    Dismissal of the government
Dismissed by the People's Assembly and Shura Council counterfeiters
    The departure of President

Incidents of vandalism and looting taking place now will not occur by young people, but by former members of the police was arrested on a number of them and hand them over to army troops now deployed in the streets.

A lack of confidence, nor in the old government and the new nor the police nor the President
Confidence is only one now in the army only.

Oh Allah, give us victory over the corrupt people.

    I'm Egyptian and Proud.

I wasn't that Moderator, but you should know we don't allow posting images of a graphical/shocking nature here. We're not siding with any political stance, just enforcing the rules.
