BLABBERMOUTH.NET - WITHIN TEMPTATION: 'The Unforgiving' Artwork Unveiled

"The Unforgiving" was produced by Daniel Gibson and is based on a comic book story written by script writer Steven O'Connell (BloodRayne, Dark 48). The band asked comic artist Romano Molenaar (Witchblade, Darkness, X-Men) to draw the characters and scenery of "The Unforgiving", which is set for release via Sony Music in Continental Europe and Roadrunner Records in the U.S., U.K. and Ireland, Japan and Australia.

Fans recently had the unique opportunity to secure a personal credit in the special edition of "The Unforgiving" by sharing the video for the new album track "Where Is The Edge" with their Facebook fans. The video for "Where Is The Edge" contains exclusive preview scenes of the upcoming movie "Me & Mr. Jones", directed by Oscar-winning Dutch director Paul Ruven. The movie is a thriller inspired by the disappearance of Natalee Holloway on Aruba, the island where also the movie itself has been secretly shot.

"The Unforgiving" storyline unfolds week by week when the band reveals new prequel pages on its homepage. With the album art featuring the main characters of the comic story such as red-headed beauty "Sinéad Harkin" (Queen), WITHIN TEMPTATION fans around the globe will have more clues to discuss the question who are "The Unforgiving."

Commented WITHIN TEMPTATION: "The song 'Where Is The Edge' is based on the story of 'The Unforgiving', a graphic novel written by Steven O'Connell. However, there is a clear link between the storyline of our new concept album and the thriller 'Me & Mr. Jones' as they both deal with mystery, murder, guilt, and a lack of forgiveness."

WITHIN TEMPTATION recently postponed its previously announced European tour after it was revealed that the band's frontwoman, Sharon den Adel, was pregnant with her third child (father is WITHIN TEMPTATION guitarist Robert Westerholt). The couple has a one-year-old son, Robin Aiden Westerholt, and a five-year old daughter named Eva Luna den Adel.

Drummer Stephen van Haestregt left WITHIN TEMPTATION earlier in the year in order to focus on his family life and work as a studio technician.

wow, so many pointless features surrounding this band's website, facebook integration (don't tempt me to add the stone comparison), tv silliness, all hinting at an increasingly commercialized path

share news from all around the world? lets see, how about informing them how to download free rips of their album(s) and see what the reaction would be like

iron man 2 a great movie? should band members talk about things unrelated to (their) music? not this one obviously...later on comes harry potter, call of duty, some tv series - looks like they're all over the place promoting various current entertainment industry products, doesn't matter what it is, just to make some money & appearance out of it (while they still can)

maybe that dutch filmmaker should make some relevant movie, like about the dutch colonialism/imperialism, instead of covering some generic usa citizen disappearance, a somewhat slippery theme though, eh?

the new song basically being the background for some mediocre movie (trailer) that gets to be in focus? thats pretty low and has a predictably unsatisfactory visual outcome/result - notice the song is rather far away from their symphonic/gothic metal sound, very toned down, simple-structured, without relevant/any solos,... probably not to offend the sensitive pop-trained ears of mainstream consumers at which this song is oriented, a step in the right direction if the band's aim is to get rich/popular/trendy guided by the record label's directives, failing to sound the sell-out alarm of their inner compass - though, there is no doubt that their former fans will lash out at such trendy behavior, which more and more metal bands are shamelessly following in search of profits, thus betraying their artistic integrity

album artwork: childish, cartoonish, pubescent, immature? the music seems fitting then

i won't be adding any more fuel to the fire regarding Resurrection's personal comments
