Big plans to ring in the new year?

In my family,its a tradition to have a big feast , set off fireworks and have good time till the sun comes up...So thats where I'll be tonight...

What about you guys?

most of the time i'll spend it at home with my family, probably gonna watch the fireworks and later on maybe go to the city square and freeze out there for a while

the pope trying to spread some 'wisdom' in a likable/popular/populist way?
by disregarding (not considering/consulting/thinking about/reflecting upon) your fears & frustrations you will also not be able to understand them and deal with them in a satisfactory way, they will continuously remain a re-occurring burden causing shifts in your balance, scaring you into escaping it & not dealing with it, failing to realize how they are a part of your overall experience/existence, same as the other feelings that may be more enjoyable/desirable - the point is essentially not to avoid/suppress/escape, but to face it/deal with it/understand it, which will dispel their perceived magnitude/importance, clarifying your own view on the subject and your relation to it

the pope's 'recipe' is like walking in the street with your eyes/mind focused on the clouds above, without watching where you're going (your attention being somewhere far away), its like after stumbling on/upon a stone you get frightened by the experience and choose to avoid stones in the future, even though some reflection upon the subject may be quite sufficient to allow you to co-exist with the stones without having to fear/avoid them, its like dreaming about flying when you don't even know how to walk (...not that there is anything wrong with dreaming & co.
