Unhappy I almost got robbed today. :/

So, as you may know, we got the free netbooks at school today and stuff. I got mine around quarter past 12, and we went to a McDonald's with two of my friends afterwards, just actually look at the thing for the first time, and play with the Wi-Fi connection.

While I was on Grooveshark and my friends installed a few programs they use, a security guard approached us and told us we'd have to leave if we didn't buy anything. One of my pals offered to buy an ice cream cone for everyone so that we wouldn't be kicked. But the machine was broken or something, so we packed up and began to walk away. The same guard stops us again, and tells us "don't leave. There are two thugs waiting to rob you in the front door". So was the case. Two weird-looking guys (and this is a very kind description) were staring at us and our bags from afar. We acted like we didn't see them and waited a while, but they stayed there, and then we realized were were on some heavy duty sh*t. Leaving through the front door was obviously not an option, and we weren't allowed to use the back/service door, either.

So, we stayed inside the place for very long minutes (it was less than half an hour, but it felt like hours to me), thinking of a few creative plans to get through that situation:
So, let's get out, and run like hell, they're only two and we're three, and we meet elsewhere!

Nope, look at them, they have no shank or anything. We walk through the door, and if the mouth us, we can beat the crap out of them. They'll prolly run away, the bastards.

How about we just wait here, until they leave? They can't sit there forever...
The McDonald's manager approached us and gave a few more sensible options. We could give him our bags and simply walk away, so that the thugs would drop us when they saw we had nothing, and then recover the bags via the service door. Or they'd call the police and have a cop escort us to a safe place or something. We told the guy we'd think about it and get back to him.

The first option wasn't an option (yes, stupid word game). Most thugs like those are on drugs or alcohol, and could end up hurting us if we had nothing to steal.

After a while of more waiting, one of my friend said "got enough of this shit. If they grab me, I'll punch them in the face. I can give fight, if I have to". And walked through the door. We were staring at him, but nothing happened. The security guard noticed us and said "the thugs just walked away through there", pointing to another street. So we followed my friend and ran to the underground as fast as possible to buy tickets and get the hell out of that place.

By the time we got on the train, we were already laughing at those tense moments.

    Interesting story, ,
Those dudes wanted your new netbook?!!
How did the guard know that those weird guys were after you?
Shouldn't McDonald's be a secure area with lots of people ?

Probably he saw them at the door, staring at us, and suspected the worst. It's Argentina, after all.

Yep, but what are they going to do if the thugs turn violent and rush in? The security guard didn't even have a gun.

I didn't expect that to be honest, you know, world cups and such things, makes me think Argentina is an ideal-safe place for tourism-related things?

Well, hmm, every man in McDonalds would fight with them or at least end the fight? no?

Yep, it does look like a nice country - for outsiders.

Maybe your country has a different culture, but here no one's coming to save you.

Indeed, whenever a fight happens, everyone leaves their shops, separate the fighters and talk with them, thats in a typical boxing, flaming fight,
but if the problem was with guns, knives then you're screwed until the police arrives .

By the time the cops usually arrive here, thugs are already enjoying your stuff.

The story could have happened in lots of places that we may consider as 'safe'. But the way anon wrote it made the story suitable for a movie plot. Look for a director mate, hollywood these days is looking for anything to turn into a movie . and remember, you can always expand the story (bend the truth). Excuse my rambling, I better press the post quick reply button before new ideas come up

Yeah, on more point; good that you and your pals escaped the thugs

The length of the title reminded me of this: 'Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan'. I don't remember watching a movie with a longer title

That was a pretty funny one. I remembered Borat's disappointment when he saw that girl (don't recall the name) as a porn star.

Don't judge my porn collection by a single lapsus.

    pron is a joke
Fixed , and that fix because i'm nice,
but technically the fix (in hellman's and my dark side's way of thinking) would be:

    pron is a definite truth
