Aiming with a gamepad sucks, I don't even know how I finished Quake 2 on the PlayStation

Yeah, aiming on gamepad is very slow, which makes online competitive sessions very hard. Some shooters have axis speed modifiers but those are also very difficult to get used too.

IMO gamepads are best fighting, racing, platforms and 3rd person games. Strategy and FPS you are best using keyboard and mouse.

I'm currently playing Uncharted 2 on my PS4, and aiming with guns is so annoying. I use full magazine just to kill one dude because I can't get crosshair on target

Yeah, this is pain in the at first, but then I got used to controller "quickly" (after spending hours playing CoD:MW2 multiplayer on xbox 360 tho ) and don't feel any discomfort in First Person Shooters, althought I know about gamepad's disadvantage comparing to keyboard/mouse. Guess that's just a matter of taste

I have a PS5 and an XBOX but I mostly play on PC. lol. I like the flexibility of PCs and I completely understand the plug and play appeal of a console.

I'm PC guy from 1998`s, my last "new build" is from 2018 (ryzen 2600 + 1080TI), recently I bought Xbox Series X for 240 Euros (used - without pads, cables, box, some guy sell it as damaged, but warranty seals was in place so I send it to MS Germany and got new one that works fine), for that price I can't even bought decent GPU for PC, so I play old games on PC, and new ones on XSX, and it will stay that's way till GPU prices won't go back to normal :)

How did they accept this? Do you not need original receipt?

Nope, only thing you need is serial number added to your microsoft account, not expired warranty, also not damaged warranty seals on your device(if you live in europe). Then you create ticket, send them console on their cost by UPS, and after 7-10days you get working refub console that looks like new one(only device without accesories)

Right now I think a console is the best way to go. Although hard to get a new one from this new generation, getting to build a new PC with a decent GPU is even harder and more expensive. In this new generation of consoles (Xbox Series and Playstation 5) you can now easily plug in a mouse and keyboard to play shooter games, most new games have support for them natively. Another advantage on using consoles for competitive games is the low to none number of cheaters. Cheating on console is much harder since their platform is closed and when a cheater is caught the whole console is banned from going online. In contrast, Call of Duty Warzone, one of the most played games nowadays, is heavily plagued with cheaters on PC. And since the game is free, when they are banned they simply create another account.

PC, because I prefer games that can only be played properly with a mouse

It all depends on what you want to play, but my experience is that shooters and strategy are two genres where using a gamepad is almost painful. PC gamers have to deal with mouse acceleration, but there are fixes for that.

Yes, and fighting games, top down shooters and maybe some side scrollers are best in a joystick. Another game that plays som much better in PS2 joystick is MGS2 and 3.

I think PC is fantastic but it does depend what it is you want to play. These days Steam has a massive library of computer games.
