ISP banning .torrent files, any non-magnet solutions for torrentleech?

Since switching to my University service provider they have banned me from downloading files with a .torrent extension (saving them with a different extension does not work either).

This is not a problem on websites with magnet links, but it is a problem for torrentleech because I cannot find their magnet links.

Has anyone here found another solution? Can you load the torrent using the info hash?

    Thanks for any input

    Not on private trackers.

On other sites you have the option of downloading .torrent metadata as text files, ZIP archives or via SSL, but on TL your options are pretty limited. Your only choice is using an HTTPS proxy so that the university server won't see what you're downloading. Talk this with their staff first, trackers tend not to like proxies.

filelist.ro is offering a txt download alternative.
fl.ro is considered to be a great alternative to torrentleech (some even say it's superior).

it's obtainable through waffles' PU forum

Last time I checked, they had removed the FL.ro unlimited offer. Is it back?

So basically I am SOL with torrentleech? Will my account be banned for inactivity because I am not downloading anything or will logging into the website every so often prevent this?

Also I do not want to attract attention to my account by using a proxy because my snatchlist looks VERY suspect...

    Thanks for input

If you log in just once every 42 days, it shouldn't be deleted.

    Wait until it's cleared, then.

A couple of months after you stop all traffic on the listed torrents.

    No worries.

I was going to request one for a friend from here recently, but didn't spot Filelist.ro anywhere in the unlimited thread, and arrived to the conclusion they removed it. At least FILEnetworks did two big giveaways last week.

    Hey anon,

I was just wondering if when you downoad a .torrent file from a private tracker does it encode your IP address into the torrent file? I think I have read that before on torrent site FAQ's that warn you not to send people your .torrent files or you will be banned. So I am thinking if I download the .torrent using a proxy and then download the files using my IP I will get banned because of the different IP's they will think I am giving away torrents from their website.

    Thanks again

no, the torrent contains your passkey.
but as you login to the tracker with proxy it records an IP and when you download for real it shows another IP, and that's source for trouble.
just try to talk to the staff of TL or go to the IRC and explain them the situation.
tell them you need to use proxy for the tracker web page and download using your real IP.

Not your IP but your passkey, which is an even more accurate method of tracking your account.

So I am thinking if I download the .torrent using a proxy and then download the files using my IP I will get banned because of the different IP's they will think I am giving away torrents from their website.
TL won't care about this if that's what you're wondering.
