    what disabled/ mac spoofing

i was disabled at what right after they started a few years ago.
i was given an invite this week and i guess they're detecting me through my ip address. they won't enable me in irc. if i've had the same isp that long i'm assuming it's static. if it's static can i change it or spoof the mac so they can't detect me? or do i have to call the isp?
if i can change the isp or spoof the mac, can someone point me to a tutorial for OSX?
    thanks,
    bosse

    Change the router's MAC, then.

There some MacOS/Unix talk in the thread.

It shouldn't be that hard to change your MAC on those OSes, anyway.

    That's not the right panel.

Look on "MAC Address" under "Internet WAN".

Change some of the bytes to something else (e.g. 00 80 AD 89 CD 55), click on Apply Changes, and power cycle the router.

If you power cycle the router, you should get a different IP. If you don't, try the ISP call/WoW excuse.

The rest is explained in my first link.

Try again the following days, after having dealt with cookies and such. You're lucky enough not to be from a banned country, so you can take the IRC interview.
