Question uTorrent - Slow download speed with low upload rate

How can I have my max download speed without putting a high Upload Rate in utorrent's Preferences. If I put an Upload Rate of 25 kB/s, my download speed is reduced to half and as I put a higher Upload Rate like 50 or 70 then I can get my max download speed. How can I unlink these settings so I can put a low upload rate and still get my max download. This is when somtimes I don't want to share certain files that I'm downloading.

It might be a simple setting but I tried searching and couldn't find anything. Thanks

    -Using uTorrent 2.0.1

Disable uTP if you don't need it! Preferences -> BitTorrent -> untick "enable bandwidth management", and restart.

Disabling "net.calc overhead" seems to have done the trick. I already had 'enable bandwidth management' unticked. Thanks for the help guys. will update if anything.

I had a problem similar like this. When downloading at max, i was unable to get my max upload speed After a lot of changing preferences, i gave up, because VEM still reports more than i really upload So that was probably ISP's issue...

Your connection is like a water pipe. If you leech at full speed, you won't upload much. If you max out your upload, download will be affected.

Yea, well you see my upload decreases a lot, comparing to the speed when i dont download anything, even about one half (from 40kb/s to 20 ). But my ISP's upload is slow anyways, download speed is always quite ok :) enough for me as we say
