What was the name of that game?

Hey All,

can any one help me find the name of an old (old!) game, 2 of them actually. Played then when I was young in the arcade.

1) It was one of those sit down cabinets, a space invaders style game. You were in a ship at the bottom (could only move left/right If I recall). The first wave of bad guys were green and second wave were blue. Not much to go, but maybe someone remembers.

2) Second one is probably easier. It was about 2 brothers (player 1 and 2), in a plane and it shot down. They get out of the plane and the game starts. It was on of those top-down scrollers, could only walk forward. The controller was a little unusual as it turned/twisted 360. One was blue and shot blue bullets, the other red and shot red bullets.

I'd love to get these two on ROMs, but I have to know the names first! :)

Any ideas?

Way back, 20 years at least, but games could have been older , but somewhere between 80 - 89. So definitely the old school blocky graphics.

1) It was definitely Space Invaders rip off, but was version 2.0 so to speak, the bad guys would "jump" from the top in an arc and try crash into you. Some times would they would (a wave) fly in an arc, so if you were just in the right spot you could take them all out by holding the fire button.

2) It is a top down scroller, not a side scroller, the graphics were also not quite as good. Oh if it helps, they were in a jungle, there were tanks and gun emplacements.

That's the one! Wow I wasted so much money on that game when I was a kid! Good times! :)

Now just have to figure out what the second one is! I don't think it was metal gear. It was pure action, shoot anything that moves!

I also remember another shooter where a chopper deployed you in the jungle.
I know they dont meet the 360 thing you mentioned, but I honestly did not understand that part

Afraid it isn't Mercs Mercs or GunStar Heroes, the graphics in both are too good. It must have been an earlier game.

It is a top-down game, similar to Galaga, you are looking down from above. Any other suggestions?

Maybe you are talking about "Metal Slug" ? My favourite cabinet game, I love this serie

I think I know the second game, but I can not remember the name, that is why I went with Mercs

I'll try to find it.
BTW dude and no offense but....You did not remember Galaga? Really? LOL
