it's just that all these apps are running under windows. a good diagnostic tool is os independant and can 'live' on its own because in many cases a diag-tool is needed because the os dösn't work anymore

2nd 1 is uniblue powersuite ( signed by microsoft works great thats why)

norton never do it..systemworks got about 300 mb space of your pc..makes it even more slow..& if your pc is infected with virus..then bye bye windows..( getting format is the only option being left..)

i used norton systemworks for about 4 years...i loved it ..all the time..but not now.after getting nod32.lol. and malware antimalwrebytes

    ....
If you want to make your PC/Notebook slow and sluggish, then you should try TuneUp Utilities.
It is on (my) top 50 List of the crappiest pc tools. Makes more problems, than it solves.

Still a good admin is more worth, than thousands of 'better-N'-faster'-tools.

What's the main advantage of using TuneUp Utilities,
do you think MS is delivering an OS with an integrated handbrake?

hey..mate no os is perfect.ok not even mac os or linux..all needs little tuning

i make my own pc tuning up for about too more than 1 year..by just microsoft default system tools trust me it works great if any operating system you are running (xp ,vista ,win 7 )
but must say microsoft's own defreg and error check and bad sectors..works great..

in 1 month i still recovery for bad sectors all the time to make my pc healthy..

after tune up my work is just become more good and more typically good way..thats why..

i dont say tune up is best software..i just recommended it..i dont force people to accept it

MAIN ADVANTAGE is that you dont have to worry for your pc..if you are free 1ce in month then it can be work just fine with it (means 1ce a month maintenance )

exactly what they're doing. it's to prevent complaints or worse.
e.g. the network bandwidth is limited by 20% by default etc.

I've heard that they limited the max. allowed connections, but never thought that would completely limit the bandwidth.

Does it mean that a 16 Mbit connection, would be as fast as a 12.8 Mbit connection (20%-off, with the standard settings, WinXP) ?

That's a common misconception about the 20% thingy. The QoS Packet Scheduler will reserve that amount for its own purposes, yes, but only will use it when necessary. Meaning that if it doesn't need those 3.2Mbit from your 16M line, all of it will be available for other apps.

But since most people have no use for the scheduler, you can reduce the reserved % to 0 or just uninstall QoS via Network Connections.
