Then I'm clueless. There's always IRC, but you're very likely to be greeted with a "you know what you did".

Possibly. Oh well. Time to slowly get another account then.

If you don't admit to cheating, they'll tell you to stop lying, and gline you if you persist. If you admit to cheating, they won't reenable you. It's a no-win situation.

yeah but the thing is he wasn't caught for cheating but for registering again after being caught, over a month ago.
if he did everything right like changing mail, cache clearing, IP and Mac changing, he could claim it's not him and maybe someone else from his country and ask them to provide some proof.

then we could figure out what went wrong with the way he registered.

but it's all worth nothing now since they probably read this..

I did that, I said I was using a public computer and everything. Then I was promptly booted. Oh well.

Sorry for double post, but I just realised something.

When my IP changes, the last number changes only. For example, 1.2.3.4 becomes 1.2.3.5. Could this be the reason why?

Well, this lets them know you're on the same range/ISP as your previous banned account. Assuming using the normal method to change your IP (MAC spoofing, my script, etc.) still kept you in that range, you could call your provider and ask whether they can give you a new address whose third octet is different - tell them the WoW forums told you your current range was banned or something.

With regards to MAC spoofing, if I'm behind a router, how does that work exactly? If they are in fact about to record and ban your MAC address, is it the MAC address of my NIC or my router itself? So far everything I've tried is a no go for changing the range, so I'll see if I can get my ISP to change it then.

As far as my knowledge goes, if you're behind a router and trackers are able to see MAC addresses, they'd see the router's.

correct. from the outside you only see the mac of the device connected to you.
so in this case it's the router's mac.

many routers have an option to change it tho
