just refresh your mac in case they do, amongst all the other things you need to do. (delete browser cache, cookies, change IPs, port etc.)

Act as if they did. Changing your MAC only takes one minute. I'd say the swift connection drop-out that takes place as the NIC is disabled and reenabled to use the new address is the biggest loss.
