Why settle for a basic build of your Firefox browser on Windows Operating Systems when you can have one that performs 25% faster? This doesn't actually make your sites load faster right? It's more of optimising memory usage and stuff like that?

Actually the optimizations make the interface and rendering of websites faster by utilising instruction sets like SSE2. The browser is more responsive and the pages are shown faster. If a site is slow because either their or your bandwidth is saturated it of course can't do anything about it.

When you have a "decent" computer like I do, 25% more speed sounds like a really good deal.

But in a way, it's basically more important for older computers as in newer ones, it doesn't seem all that noticeable?

As far as I know, yes - if the older processor supports those special instruction sets, things should go faster, at least a bit. On newer ones the difference may be less noticeable.

If ur a heavy tab user of FF 30+ at any one time plus running ur p2p intensive software then no matter if u have an older or faster computer it will definetly help
