    Depends on your ISP.

Well, I don't use your ISP, so I couldn't really know...

Just try power cycling the modem and see if that makes a difference.

Again, I can't really know. But go to cmyip.com to check that. If you get the same IP, repeat the procedure until you have a new one.

You usually are getting IP from some IP range with 256 to even over 65000 IPs. You may be assigned with the same IP more than once.

    check your IP here:
MoanMyIP.com - Sexy Girls Moaning Your IP Address!

ipnetinfo will provide you more information on you IP range
IPNetInfo: Retrieve IP Address Information from WHOIS servers

    just by the way
The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a computer networking protocol used by hosts (DHCP clients) to retrieve IP address assignments and other configuration information.

I would assume that your ISP account set to dynamic IP so no way u can get your old IP back (maybe someone is using it at the moment), you can try to call your ISP Customer Service and asked them to give u a static IP.

I think he means that he KNOWS he has dynamic IP but what he doesn't know is if the IP he has right now could be the IP he will have a few days later..
it depends how much IPs you change but that's really unlikely to happen because when you stop using 1 IP someone else starts using it and it cycles between ISP users a lot of times before you will ever use it again so the answer for you is NO.

I've once had the same IP for a month or so. I guess that if no one else is given the same one while your PC is turned off you can still claim it later.
