Thread: Which web browser is better for you?

  1. #76
I didnt know that, but it seems to be true...
If anon said it it's true alright.
I guess that's true. Can't live without my extensions. Ahaha.
Believe me I had the same dilemma when moving to chrome.
Soon most firefox extensions will be available for chrome too.
Right now I'm waiting for noscript.

If the low image quality caused by the Opera servers isn't enough proof, go to IP.cc and do their anonymity test. Turbo is a proxy, but it's not an elite one - your real address is still sent. So I'd recommend using a separate instance for the "normal" sites you want to accelerate only.

Yes, I use it sometimes. Many FF addons are working with it.
And I like the splash screen, too.

Recently I even though to return further in the past, and tried to use Mosaic.

But install process failed (Mosaic is for 16 bits OS).

Is there some trick to simulate a 16 bits OS with a 32 bits XP one?

Or maybe have I to use a VM, instal windows 3.11 in it, and then Mosaic ???

If you can get me a link to the Mosaic installer I'll give it a try.

In the meantime, it could be a Linux system you have to install in the VM instead, have a look at this:
    Mosaic Web/Gopher Browser

I have a damn good trick for supporting your eyes in the night.
I would like to share this with the members of sbi.

Install the ff-addon--> stylish --> install this style.
Now you can surf all the night on the web without using your eyes too much.
Even pictures get a layer for taking care of your eyes.

Give it a try, it's worth.

How exactly does it help your eyes at night? Seems to be the same to me...

Perhaps you didn't install it correctly?

Low monitor brightness did the trick for night surfing here.

I have found an .exe for windows here:
    ftp://ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu/Mosaic/Windows/v3.0/

Ps: The installer works, Mosaic can be started, it can connect to my router, but it crashes when trying to connect to SBI, and even to google.

    Edit:

Even with a site as simple as goosh.org - the unofficial google shell., Mosaic doesn't work (although it doesn't crashes this time).

So no more webmaster in the world are thinking to poor Mosaic users ??

You're lucky, I can't even open it - a cmd window flashes for a fraction of a second, then closes. But I've had this problem with many 16-bit applications. Guess I'll wait until I can try it at school or the cafe tomorrow.

Can you visit Example Web Page with Mosaic? I suppose the browser doesn't support current CSS.

Yes, but sometimes the low of the monitor is not low enough.
For example while surfing without using any kind of light.

    Firefox

As i'm on Mac OSX, i use to upgrade my Safari navigator but it is really slow and buggy so i prefer Firefox.
I like the Firefox plugins like Ad removing, video/FLV grabbing...
