A remake will be fun to watch. Jackie Chan - awesome, and Will Smith's son is one of the few good child actors (seriously).

Yeah i noticed that too.

Wil Smith in a London radio interview played with the idea of the title Kung Fu Kid. but since its a franchise I dont think they want to rub the owners of copyright too much the wrong way

I still think they should have chosen Kung Fu kid. Especially since the original franchise ended on a very bad note.

And they aren't really rubbing the owners of copyright much at all I think. I'm pretty sure the studios owns enough/full rights to change the name, and they were also considering that as well. I think Jackie Chan even acknowledged that the movie would be recognised as Kungfu Kid in asia.

Maybe they will use Kung Fu Kid in a next movie with JC or they might use The Karate Kid: Kung Fu saga series hehe. But if the new revamp with JC proves popular they might consider who knows :)

Didn't notice that was Jackie chan till I heard the voice. The first kirate kid was a Great firm, hopefully this turns out good.
