Being an addict to youtube, my impression that when google bought it, its quallity dropped and they didn't actually do anything significant to improve it.

This innovations they made is just to bring them more money, greedy bastards.

Video comments sux more then anytime before (can't be seen who replied to who and order is screwed badly), they delete old videos with very few views, we lost several features, videos watched counter on members page, meh, they just change things as they like, and its not going better.

Sometimes I feel the same. I tried explaining a friend why I use Scroogle instead of Google. The only thing he got is that there were no ads. I guess he fell to the "aura" alpacino mentioned.

Well they actually merge "internet and servers" with OS, so kind of it is their "area". And thats not "simple OS". It redefines meaning of OS.

    I was reminded of this:
    gOS 2.0.0-beta1

@mazmar: this system will be Cloud-based, and if "they are best on the Internet and servers"...

You can download a USB copy of Chromium OS and run it natively here:

What the point with this OS? Without internet its useless. And for free Google giving very little online spce. Max .pdf you can upload is 1mb. It's nothing in now days. So for free i don't think we can use it.

They'll probably give you more space for the things you store via Chrome OS.

If you want to try the one I posted, you'll need a flashdrive with at least 4GB of capacity, and your laptop's BIOS must support booting from USB devices.

I don't think my old laptop can boot from usb. Is there another opportunity to start this OS? Maybe from CD?

The .img file is 2.9GB long, so you'll be unable to burn it to a CD. It fits on a DVD, but if your laptop doesn't have a built-in DVD drive, you're back to square one.

I have DVD-drive in laptop. So will try new OS. But why it's so heavy? For OS which can only work on the internet it too much.

Dude there is linux distributions which fits on couple of DVD-s (but essential stuff is usually on one DVD).

I have no idea why chrome needs that much, but I also don't care to inform myself. xD
