While you are waiting for a response, look at this thread, maybe it will provide some help with TL: http://www.sb-innovation.de/showthre...(TorrentLeech)

These are very bad settings. All of your torrents will have a ratio of at least 2.0 irrespective of swarm conditions, not to mention the micromanagement required for enabling the ratio tool on completed torrents (to achieve results that could be fully automated with Speed mode++). I strongly suggest rereading the first post of this thread before you continue.

I'd be happy to, but just like the "reregister on trackers" guide, the first post covers 90% of what's important in its current state and I have more pressing tasks right now. If there are specific points you need help with, do let me know.

The same way as with other parameters. http://www.sb-innovation.de/showthread.php?p=283774 has a list of variable names and types (that post is old, so have a look at ConfigurationDefaults.class if the ones you want are missing).

    Question Safest Ratio Cheating Settings?

My goal is to keep my upload ratio high enough, to be above the cutoff limit, so my downloading privileges do not become disabled.

I intend do download large UHD remuxes, compress, upload the new compressed version, and delete the larger file. The main reason is because I want to use torrents to backup my media collection by sharing my collection with others. I also don't want to keep remuxes assuming a 77" TV can't show the difference between a 4K remux and quality compressed encoded file.

This will obviously be a problem for my ratio.

The other problem is that my ISP download speed is a lot faster than my upload speed.

I plan to be on the site contributing for many years, therefore I don't want to get ejected.

What are the safest settings to use? Or best not take the risk?

"There are no 'best settings'. It all depends on the tracker. Those that work just fine at one may get you banned at another. See http://www.sb-innovation.de/showthread.php?t=19749, look up the thread for yours, and read carefully."

If you're totally new to this, may I suggest taking your first steps with a throwaway account on some tracker that's always open for signups. Mistakes will be much less painful that way.

a few questions about “upload multiplier”:

    * is this setting controlled by “stop increasing the fake upload when you are connected to less than…” or is this active 100% of the time?

    * let’s say i set it at 2 and 4, if i upload 1 MB without cheating, does this mean the data that will be reported to the tracker is anywhere between 2 to 4 MB?

    * is there a minimum uploaded amount or even 1 KB will be multiplied?

    * does it only multiply real uploaded amount or fake upload as well?

If you double-click a torrent and go to its Info tab, you will find the following data.
    • Peers (connected to and total)
    • Uploaded (amount of data uploaded for real)
    • Fake Uploaded (total amount of upload that was reported to the tracker)

Noting and comparing these will answer your questions, and also help quantify and clarify the effect of any other settings

    ok, thanks anon

the torrent Info tab + reading your explanations again on page 1 clarified things better

i've been using "Fake upload (speed mode)" since like 2007 on pretty much all the trackers i'm a member of (15+) and i've never been caught.

i'm going to use a new setting ("upload multiplier") so you can imagine why i'm a bit nervous

i've noticed that even though i have a seedbox, it's only 100 Mbit up/down so i "lose" to gigabit seedboxes. for example, a fresh/new torrent i downloaded last week (i was literally the first leecher) i have uploaded 28GB whereas the gigabit seedboxes have over twice that amount!

You can also add this data to the torrent list as extra columns (user mode must be Advanced to unlock all of them) and use the latest Ubuntu Desktop torrent for experimenting in a risk-free way.

If anything, this is safer since it augments real upload as opposed to generating it out of thin air, so the gap between your traffic reports and everyone else's is smaller. Of course, there are never any guarantees.

Most seedboxes are autosnatchers looking to pump and dump. Compensate with longer seeding times as much as your storage space allows and you will ultimately come out ahead.
