I start using tools like serenity because I hate some tracker owners. They believe that spending 100 or 200 dollars/euros per month they deserve to earn thousands... It's ironic that someone spend time and money to encode a movie, someone else to upload with a seedbox and another one want to be rich just because start a tracker.
So
How can we be safe ? I don't believe we can IF the tracker has clever stuff with some Knowledge, but most trackers missing them. They also missing good scripts.
Before I start using serenity I read the experience from others and I decide to download some source code to see what kind of scripts some trackers use.
ex Nexus trackers. They have some elementary scripts. They check the following
1. if ($uploaded > 1073741824 && $upspeed > (104857600/$cheaterdet_security))
This means Uploaded more than 1 GB with uploading rate higher than 100 MByte/S (For Consertive level). This is no doubt cheating.
2. if ($uploaded > 1 073 741 824 && $upspeed > (10485760/$cheaterdet_security))
This means Uploaded more than 1 GB with uploading rate higher than 10 MByte/S (For Consertive level). This is likely cheating.
That's all if the security level is the default.

Nexus trackers is the security level is more than the default.
1. if ($uploaded > 1073741824 && $upspeed > 1048576 && $leechers < (2 * $cheaterdet_security))
This means Uploaded more than 1 GB with uploading rate higher than 1 MByte/S when there is less than 8 leechers (For Consertive level). This is likely cheating.
2. if ($uploaded > 10485760 && $upspeed > 102400 && $leechers == 0)
This means Uploaded more than 10 MB with uploading speed faster than 100 KByte/S when there is no leecher. This is likely cheating.
IF this level is enabled they put you on the cheaters list and someone from stuff must examine this list to see if you are a cheater or not.
The announce routine is interesting also. Someone can see why the waffles method works, and works if you DON't go to high in speed.

Yes, but I managed to get my account disabled because I used a speed of 126 MB/s and now I see that I broke their first rule. It happened due to those shitty separators (I think that's the manyth time I say this)
Yeah, especially CHDbits. If you dont do some stupid things that can be caught by there users , you definitely be safe !

Hi all. Just wanted to share something that I found out. If you want to change your utorrent statistics, just go to C:\Users\Username\Appdata\Roaming\Utorrent and open the settings.dat with Bencode editor. Then, delete the .fileguard key that is at the very top and after that, search for a line beginning with "tu" without the quotes, and that is your uploaded amount in bytes. Just change that and save and exit bencode editor, then start utorrent and you'll see that it has automatically updated the ratio too! Sorry if you guys already knew this. Cheers.

Stupid question: does this actually work? If it does, seems like it beats using any mods because it's simple.
It works, but it doesn't achieve the effect you're thinking of.

My cheating on a wide range of trackers is exactly the same for the past 3 years and I have never been caught once.
I use the Utorrent Expansion pack and the Multi 111x mod. I always set my max upload rate to usually 2kb-5kb, and "seed' to a max ratio of 2:1 but usually closer to 1:1
The trick is to just blend in and this has worked a treat over the years
A quick example of dodging a bullet, I had a friend download the same mod and he forgot to change the max upload in Utorrent. He goes to download a popular torrent and ends the day "uploading" 450GB! How he didnt get banned I'll never know but i promptly told him to correct it and now his ratio is close to 1.2:1.
