    • SMPlayer + optimized mplayer binary + binary codecs (x86 only)

    MPC-BE supports hardware acceleration, but SMPlayer downloads video in chunks (making it QoS and battery friendly), has some more features, and the mplayer backend is a terminal application so you can pipe stuff to it.

    As a consequence of this, I use both on an almost equal basis.

    POTplayer is more than enough for my needs. I always seemd to used Koreanmediaplayer(KMP) but potplayer seems like even better.

    Will surely check MPC HC though.

    Is CoreAVC even a thing now? Haven't heard a thing about this codec since Windows XP times. Is it still being updated? Why is it good?
