    TheVault.bz

    Tracker: TheVault
    Tracker URL: TheVault :: Login
    Open Signups?: Rarely. Depends upon number of registered users, invites are enabled
    Category: Business related material
    Number of Users: ~7000
    Number of Torrents: ~17000

    TheVault is one of three sister sites of TheBox. As with the other sister sites, this too is a very niche tracker, specialising in tracking business related material. All sites use a similar frontend. As with most trackers, it has basic functions along the top, with basic account information.

    TheVault tracks business related material - anything from audio of lectures to magazines to particular authors. There's not much else to it I'm afraid Most content is in .avi, whilst .pdf and .flv follow. I wouldn't say there are many DVD-Rs.

    Because TheVault and TheBox are sister sites, they both have very similar features. Recently a IRC Java Applet replaced the old shoutbox allowing users to interact without hassle. Again there is a request feature - though only about 10% of request are filled.

    The forums are very active, but is centred around business and contains much jargon, so perhaps not all may participate. Having said this there is a help section, and a other tracker section.

    The speeds are surprisingly decent, maxing out my 4mbit, most of the time. I believe this to be because many honest users have to invest in seedboxes to maintain a decent ratio.

    Cheating there is the same as at TheBox. I use Azureus Extreme Mod, no spoofing, at speeds between 20 - 30kBps - I recommend this method to all users here who use TheVault or in future will.

    In short, if you are a business - styled person, this is definitely for you, but to the average person, this site is not for them. In my opinion, there is very little content which would be relevant/useful/interesting to the average person. Though, I must commend them; to have 2 and 1/2 times as many torrents than users is a respectable feat.

    Hey, when trading TheVault invites, what should I be looking for in return?
    On one hand, TheVault is a low level niche tracker, so I shouldn't expec much. On the other hand, I've never seen an invite been given out, so invites are rare; this should up it's value.

    Thanks for the tips, i was banned last time because i used RatioMaster (i know, i was n00b).

    I'll try with Azureus Extreme and report my results here. I hope they won't find out about my method this time. Regarding the RatioMaster, i have used it successfully on salad & biztorrents, two more trackers specializing in business torrents. On salad, i used to vary my upload speed between 80 and 1000 kbps, with occasional flashes of few gigabytes. The method worked well on biztorrents too, but i made mistake of inserting one digit too much. :)

    Anyway, my connection is very unsymmetrical (my DL speed is 40 times larger than my UL speed), and i don't want to pay for a seebox or donate right now.

    @splicer

    Are there any other methods, or some newer, better methods now that work on thevault?
    Also, can i participate in the forums without being afraid for my lif... i mean.. account.

    Thanks.

    TheVault's scripts watch if you're faking on an inactive torrent (for example, download on the RM), and instaban you if you do so. Cheating on active torrents or using a mod such as the Azureus Hack that downloads the actual files are your best bets. I seem to be doing fine at TV with a 0kB/s fake upload.

    Xtreme mod works well here. While using the same, keep a watch on the average swarm speed in the general tabs. That should give you a hint on how much and how fast or slow to cheat. Use your real upload only, that's the safest way out.

    Thanks for the tips, anon & classyboy.

    Regarding the instaban, i was always wondering what is this 'insta' prefix for, but i was quickly enlightened by thevault's anti-cheat algorithms. As soon as i connected via RM, i was immediately banned.

    They are very strict and unforgiving, but their vault is a goldmine.

    I'll try azureus extreme tomorrow, and i'll need to find some good tutorials on it's advanced settings; i don't think that basic, default settings will allow me to leech unnoticed in theVault.

    That and Waffles's "it appears you are cheating". My TB passkey became invalid the second the RM announced fake download

    Regarding the Azureus Hack settings, read this:

    There's also a thread about TheVault cheating on our Talk section.

    Thanks, i'll read that.

    Btw, there's one interesting thing that is happening to me on the salad.tl right now. Since my registration, i was cheating with RatioMaster, and while the ratio counter at the top of the screen says that my ratio is 1.6, when i look into my profile->torrent list, i can see my real ratios (0.05, etc...).
    I hope no one will notice this.

    The ratio shown at the top is your global one, and the ones in the torrent list the individual ones.

    Damn, you're fast.
    (MSN autonotifier, or something like that? )

    It appears you didn't understand what i have wanted to say. Here's one example:
    Torrent1 -> ratio = 0.05
    Torrent2 -> ratio = 0.09
    Torrent3 -> ratio = 0.06

    So, this global ratio should afaik be Avg(T1, T2, T3) = 0.20/3, but it is 1.6.

    Yes, but traffic from previous torrents no longer shown in the list also counts.

    In very short your global ratio is the sum of all your upload from all your torrents divided by the sum of all your download from all your torrents.

    Ok, i was more worried about someone (moderator?) finding about my methods by browsing through my profile.

    Back to the topic, i have heard of some guys using GreedyTorrent on TheVault, but i will first try the Azureus Extreme mod, which looks far more reliable and harder to detect.

    NoteToMyself (and anyone else who doesn't already have elbitz acc): elbitz registration is open. Register an acc and search forums for elbitz cheating.
